Re: graphic bleeds into footer
That is true, however, I need the div tags because they enclose images and captions together.

Re: index and page layout
Yes, I specifically told the TOC list item Index to use the "index" page layout. Just as a test, I set the master page layout as "chapter" and everything works correctly (except the index since there's no page information in the "chapter" page layout. I switched the master page layout to "index" and ...

Re: index and page layout
I created a second page layout called "index". Here's the issue I face now. Under project properties, I set my master page layout to default since I want to use both page layouts. Then under my PDF target, I set the page layout to default. Where else would the page layout be defined?

Re: index and page layout
Here's a question.

Re: index and page layout
It makes perfect sense. But where does that leave the index in the page layout? All the other pages are used.

Re: index and page layout
What I do not understand is what happens if I need to use normal, left, right, and title and there is no type left over for the index? Does this mean I'm always stuck with only those types? I cannot make a new type?

Re: index and page layout
In the default page layout, I have my index called index, but it is type "normal" which is how I specified it in the TOC for my index page, to use the default page layout with normal page. I do not understand why this wouldn't show the information.

Re: image and caption padding
Unfortunately, neither of those changed anything. (I double checked and I am for sure on Print output)
I added padding on the bottom of the image and the top of the caption and that seemed to work.

Re: image and caption padding
I am finally getting closer with the image and captions. The issue I am having now is that it looks perfect on the HTML Help, but not in the Print Output.

Thank you for the tip, Andrew. There are way too many to fix, so I will leave as is for the time being.

Re: Clickable X-refs in PDF
However, if it's important enough to you, it's possible to do it in Acrobat (Standard or higher...may be possible in Elements, but I've never used that). Just turn on the Linker tool, click the link box, and press Delete. That will remove the link.
Would this also turn off the hyperlinks? I have ...

Re: Clickable X-refs in PDF
You have the right idea.
My cross references say something like "as you can see in Figure 16" and the figure is always on the same page. I want the cross reference to refer to the image, but do not want them to be clickable. When they are clicked, the screen jumps so the image caption is at the ...

Re: image and caption padding
I have my image and caption in a div tag. I was able to work more with it this afternoon and I realized that within my div tags, my image was surrounded by a <p> and then my caption was after that.

The more I think about this, I am wondering if a Complex Selector would be the way to go, but am not sure.

image and caption padding
Hello there,
I am wondering how to close the gap between the image and caption. I have a sample shown below.
I have messed with both margins and padding and both are currently set at 0.
Any Ideas?
Andrea

Re: Page Layout_Adding Title Page
Hello Chris,
The best way to start is create a new topic with all the information you want to see on the title page. I usually give it a clever name like "Title" or "Cover"
Then in page layout, create a page that will be labeled as Title.

Re: graphic bleeds into footer
I have been resizing or moving images when they bleed over into the footer. Probably not the best way, but seems to work for me, since not all my images are near headings.

Re: bookmarks listed in left nav of PDF output
If you have the actual Adobe Reader program (the one you purchase, not the one you download for free) then you can open the PDF and delete out the bookmarks. Other than that, I have yet to find a better way.
You could put in a feature request.

Re: PDF build error
I tried to attach the PDF, but it says they are not allowed to be posted. I have the problem on any computer I use. And it's only in one specific project build, and not in any of the others. So I know it's not the page layout, masterpage, or CSS because all 25 projects share these files. So I am not ...

Re: PDF build error
The build process shows no errors. I don't know there is an error until I open the PDF and scroll through it. And it doesn't show the notice at the same place every time, so I don't think it's a page setting it off.
