If you could just clarify for me a few things
1.) What do you want the final out to look like at the cross-reference? do you want to be able to click on a word and have a new topic pop up, or do you want it to say "see figure in another chapter"?
2.) Are you testing within the preview or after a ...

Re: Importing between projects and Source Control
I have tried building both with all chapters checked out and with all chapters checked in, and neither works. I have a build working when I turn off the auto re-import, but would like to have them linked back again.

Re: Binding? Importing? I'm confused.
I don't know if you are having a similar issue that I have within source control. Now that my files are bound to Source Control, I can check files out through Flare and everything works fine, but if I check the files out through source control directly then Flare doesn't seem to notice and I end up ...

Does anyone else have the issue I'm having where you have a parent chapter and children chapters that have files that are linked together?

Re: Binding? Importing? I'm confused.
I had the same trouble when I put my files in source control before realizing that I could bind them through Flare. What I ended up doing was making a copy to my desktop and then deleted all the files from source control. Then after a fresh reboot, I bound each of the chapters separately through ...

Importing between projects and Source Control
Hello.
I have all my chapters bound to source control, but when I build "child" chapters, they always look at the "parent" chapter to make sure the import files are up-to-date, but the build is not working because it comes up with an error when it starts on the import files. If I turn off the auto ...

Re: Command line build with conditions
The command line is setup so it is telling madcap to build a specified target. Whatever conditions you have selected within the madcap target, that will be what is included.
Hope that helps.

Re: Binding to TFS question
Well, I found an answer to my question. I create my output to the original files and they are not bound to TFS, but it doesn't seem like they need to be. So the I created a publish file to publish the .chm files to a different folder within TFS.

Re: Binding to TFS question
Thank you, but I really am looking for an answer to my question, not a debate over where to store files.
The question remains, once the files are bound within Madcap Flare, do I open the files through the original location or to the TFS location it is now located? I basically have 2 versions after ...

My thought about was to make my portfolio on Flare as an opportunity to show a potential client that I am verse in the program. As well as single sourcing to have web and pdf versions.

It may be worth submitting a feature request. Could you not just use a webhelp and embed it into the elearning program?

Re: Pasting Image Data from the Clipboard
Mark,
What you would need to do is save the picture as a file and then within Madcap, just go to Insert>Picture.

Re: Glossary tab?
There does not seem to be differences between 4.2 and 5.0 with regard to the glossary. Madcap does not have a workaround for including a tab. Instead, the glossary is included at the bottom of the TOC topics.

Re: Object not set to a reference
Since the HTML Help build was working fine, I decided only to delete the Print Only TOC topics and one of them is the culprit. I am not sure as the exactly why, but when I deleted the print only, the build went through without any problems. So I am still working on the exactly culprit, but I at ...

Re: Object not set to a reference
I have a PDF and an HTML Help build for each chapter and the HTML Help works perfectly, so I'm not about to delete and start the entire chapter over because that's way too much work.
I will try to compare XML code though. Thank you for that thought

Re: Object not set to a reference
I have 23 chapters and 22 of them build and just not this last one. I opened on of the chapters that works and compared it against this one and they are exactly the same. I've double checked and the target has everything set (not just defaults) and still no luck. Good idea, but do you have another ...

I do not know if this is what you are looking for, but the Madcap Help has a list of shortcuts.

Glossary Heading Question
Hello everyone,
I have huge glossary and I would like to have a heading shortcut across the top of the page so the user could click on a letter and jump straight to that letter heading. Is there a way to do that?
Thank you,
Andrea

Re: span tags
Kevin,
Thanks for the tip, but I am so far removed from the original Word import so there is no way I can do a re-import.
Lisa,
Thank you for the idea, I will research regular expressions as I have never heard that term before and see how that will work.
Thanks,
Andrea
