Re: When to use Xref or hyperlink
First, XRef is mostly used when you want page references in Print output to replace topic references in online output, so it doesn't apply here.

Re: When to use Xref or hyperlink
If you add more than one link in the TOC to the same topic, how is the system supposed to know which TOC link it's supposed to synchronize with? It will generally pick the top one, hierarchically in the tree.

Because I'm at GMT - 5:00?
I don't know why it's working, either; I just stepped through the path, deleting one thing after another until I got it to work. Also, I'm only using IE 8.
Sure would like to retain the currently active page, though...

Re: Adding buttons to WebHelp
I've had to modify the OnClick path for this button (removing "body.") because it was opening the entire frameset (multiplying the nav frame). I also removed the "/Content" since we "Do not use "Content" folder in output" for our merged WebHelp projects. This is what is working for me:

Re: Issues with dropdown text in HTML.
This might be an HTML Help issue, because in my WebHelp, the dropdown opens in "Search All" and in "Find in this topic". Sorry, but I can't seem to find anything in the help about this issue, either.

Re: Search question
I'm using Flare 7.2, and underscores work OK in similar types of searches (system parameters, etc.). (On a side note, periods do not, so the ".htm" wouldn't work.)
I suspect the variables might be in play, here.

Re: Styles change during preview and build
Go to http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_list.asp , the W3 site, for info on styling lists. Use the "Try it yourself" feature to test all types of formatting possible in your style sheet (although I wouldn't recommend an image as list item marker, as they do). Once you have these set up, it's a simple ...

Had Madcap made any form of announcement that admitted they hadn't tested this upgrade themselves, he would have been saved quite a ...

Tortoise SVN 1.7.1.22161 is incompatible with Flare 7.2.0
Do not upgrade to SVN 1.7.1.22161 if you're binding Flare 7.2.0 and SVN! (Not sure if there are any issues if using SVN standalone.) This bug has been verified by the Flare developers and Bug # 46996 has been submitted.

Yes, the title is inside the <title></title> tags (inside <head></head>, whereas that topic header is more than likely inside <h1></h1> tags.

Re: Including PDF in WebHelp TOC
Use a redirect page in the TOC. Create a topic and strip everything in the GUI. In the text editor, add this line inside the <head> section, then add the topic to your TOC in place of the current link.

In the third row, you say: "Due to a Flare bug there could still be some highlighting undetected in situations where there is additional character formatting."

* 120mm = 4.7244 in.
* Mixing em & pt heights is probably not good.

You might do better if you set your style for the image only, no matter where it appears (list or not).

Re: A mini TOC that only shows pages under that "book"
The confusion might be due to the fact that not all HATs implement the "mini-toc" feature in the same manner.
Flare = Automatically lists all topics (pages) under the current "book" topic (no reference to interior headers).
RoboHelp = Automatically lists all headers inside the current topic only ...

How about assigning a margin-right value to your h3 style (for print medium) that would allow for the width of the image plus a little padding?

Have you looked at the css z-index property, which specifies the stack order of an element?
An element with greater stack order is always in front of an element with a lower stack order.

Me again
How would I adjust this JavaScript to get the toolbar item to work in a topic toolbar? (It works fine in the WebHelp toolbar, as you already know, of course.)
This script is Expand[ing] All OK, but not opening the Print window.
Thx

For now, please ignore my recommendation (on 9/21) to use a delayed redirect page. Madcap support is still working (Case 29453) on why Flare disables the redirect entirely by turning the source "http-equiv" (dash) into the output "http_equiv" (underscore) if there is a delay in the content value ...

BTW, Dave, nessmonster said "I added the suggested Javascript code to my existing Print button and voila." There should be no problem using that default Print button method instead of your original copy/paste method, right?
