I wonder if this would only have to be done in the parent project in a merged WebHelp system?

Seems like it should.

You could, instead, use the meta refresh function to create a redirect page that you would add to the TOC. Very simply, you add this to the HEAD section of a blank page:

A few issues in the RH-to-Flare conversion, both of which cause all subsequent content to be stripped from the topic:

* RH spell check "ignore" tags (<?rh-ignored text="MyIgnoredText" ?>) when encountered twice in the same paragraph.

* RH implicit_p tag (<?rh-implicit_p ?>MyTextStringWithNoPTags ...

Does anyone know how to remove the Close button ( X ) from the Related Topics dropdown? Font and background edits were intuitive, but I can't find anything on that button.

Thx, Lisa! The HelpControlMenuItem is for the menu items; go figure. The close button is probably here to stay.

Where, oh where, can I go to change that ugly-a** grey background (and the too-large font, and the close button) in the Related Topics popup?

In a merged WebHelp setup, all Glossary terms appear in the Glossary frame, as they should, but the terms in topics are only linked (for expansion) within the specific child project. That is, term_a in the child1 project is not linked when it appears in a topic from the child2 project.

Isn't this a merged project? If so, you must be pointing to the Startup Topic in the parent project.

EDIT: You are pointing to the topic in your output, are you not, and not the source?

Who would misspell canselld, anyway?

We can't seem to get a master page to link outside the project, whether using snippets or not (several master pages are assigned to individual topics, not to the target).

* A merged WebHelp project (merged on Targets).
* A global project that contains a snippet with a hyperlink, which is inside a ...

Are you using style classes at all? For example:

tr.special td p {
MyStyles
}
tr.special2 td p {
MyStyles2
}
etc.

The Web browser frame information:

• RH Start Page * = Flare Output File

The "Home page" that initially appears in the content pane

• RH Default Topic = Flare Startup Topic *

My boss found the solution (that's why he gets paid the moderate bucks).

In Flare, you have to point Xenu to the Startup Topic instead of the Output File (as we did with RH).

Who knew?

Troy, did you ever resolve this issue? Or, has anyone else come up with a link checking solution across a merged project (other than an online validation product)?

We just switched from RH, with a 40+ merged project, and Xenu just doesn't work on it.
