Re: Edit multiple chm files at once

The answer is yes and no, actually! :D

By nature, CHM files are finished products. So think of it like a PDF - you can, with the proper tools, edit a PDF (finished product) to make a correction.

To remove the call to js in a CHM you can use a CHM Editor (http://www.chmeditor.com/). It's a nifty ...

Re: Importing Nested Ditamaps

Indeed - is importing nested ditamaps supported? I can import a single ditamap. If that ditamap contains any submaps, a typical dita construct, I get an error about it not being able to locate dtds. Any ideas out there?

Thanks!

Output WebHelp to a single folder?

I have a requirement from a developer to output all the topics for a help system into a single folder. I can do this using (gasp) DITA and WebWorks, but this particular project is in Flare (have V6) and I'm scratching my head (after looking through tons of postings and online). Is this possible ...

Re: DITA Export in Flare 5.0

One more thing - is there a way to export out the context-sensitive IDs that are in the Flare project to DITA or is this a manual process? Anyone know?

Thanks!

Re: DITA Export in Flare 5.0

Actually Margaret, this was an incredibly helpful post from you :-)

I'm investigating adding condtions for platform and audience and reapplying them to existing conditons so that there will be less work to do on the DITA end of things. Stay tuned!

Cheers and thank!

DITA Export in Flare 5.0

Howdy folks!

I have some questions about the DITA export in Flare 5.0.

1. Is there any way to export a Flare project using a target where text has been conditionalized (to remove topics not desired in the output)? It appears that when you create a new target with a DITA output type, all ...

Re: Am I the only one who thinks 4.2 Install takes a long time?

Indeed - it does seem to take a long time - but I managed to make it last a lot longer!

I decided to see what the footprint of the new install was gong to be so I clicked Disk Cost. It happily told me how much room it was going to take. Closing the Disk Cost window I clicked next to proceed with ...

Extra Map IDs found in .chm output

I've generated an MS HTML Help project in Flare 3.1 and while it looks fine and actually works correctly, when you look at it internally, there are extra Map IDs.

For example, here's the end of the map file:

// Saved Settings area
//
#define ID_db_save_as 90000
#define ID_db_rename 90010 ...
