Re: Odd and even pages in print output

I think I've just found it. Should I use the Page type in the TOC entry where right is odd and left is even? or is there another way - I thought I might be able to do it through styles?

Odd and even pages in print output

Dear madcaps,

I have a layout which is designed, when used in paper form to be pairs of pages; crudely a picture on the left and instructions on the right. Sometimes the instructions spread to more than one page. So what I want to so is say the picture page always starts on an even page and the ...

My glossary will have a lot of my entries with an official abbreviation I want to be able to have the term, its abbreviation and possibly a category:

Re: Operation Rename Failed: Object reference not set.....

The problem in the end was a "corrupt" page layout. It was clear what exactly but in the end I recreated my page layouts, recreated the topics with the problem and all, thuis far, is ok

Re: Floating Divs

Dear Lisa,

Thank you, it is quite a relief to know that I'm not going mad and that my CSS is OK after all.

Before I continue I'd like to understand what the page area shown on a page layout is and whether it excludes or includes the margins? There is also the margins relating to unprintable space ...

Re: Mixing orientation in a printed PDF output

Yes, this works well.

It would be EVEN NICER if I was able to specify that the layout only applied to that one topic and therefore the previously set layout would apply on the next this way a default could be set and overidden when required without having to remember to adjust the next topic. As it ...

SOLUTION Re: Paste from Clipboard Fails

Dear madcaps,

This is what has finally resolved the issue:

1) Close the Flare
2) Using windows explorer, browse to the folder with your project
3) Delete the Analyzer and Output folders (move the output folder elsewhere if it has outputs you do not want to lose)
4) Browse into your Project folder ...

The Page Layout area - incluidng or excluding page margins?

Dear Madcaps,

Using TOC Book & Topic Titles

Dear Madcaps,
I am wondering what the value of these are and how people use them. By default they are the title of the topic linked to but since you can change them it would seem that they could be used somehow. I can see that TOC Book names would be useful to use in page or chapter numbering and ...

Hello madcaps,

I seem to have identified the problem, I suspect it's a bug.
If I have this configuration it doesn't work

But this does

In this case I moved the unlinked book to below a topic ...

Re: Tables, their styles and applying other classes

OK Problem solved. I went back to basics and started again.

The solution is to create a table and leave the table style as defualt then apply the tc classes and I get exactly what I want. the table is not redrawn on applying the classes.

I suppose I'm left wondering if table stales are of any use ...

Problem 1 - mixed borders in a table
I changed the approach and used paragraph styles but, I wasn't thinking, the borders that i want apply to cells not paragraphs so I don't know how to get th effect I want, that is this:
