Re: Best way to share help files with coworkers for review (UPDATED)
The issue is now a non-issue as management changed their mind about needing to share the files. Thanks!

Re: Content on Master Page won't completely right-align
Use the browser Inspection tool to inspect the elements in your output and see where the extra margin/padding might be being applied. There's so many options that it's difficult to diagnose from outside of your environment. I'd be looking at the interactions between paragraphs, table cells, divs ...

Re: Best way to share help files with coworkers for review
I need to do something similar. I have 2 formats and I'd like to send them both to the team for review to see which one they like better. I can demo it in Zoom, but want them to have a chance to play around with the navigational differences.

Re: Content on Master Page won't completely right-align
Thanks, Alex...I hadn't considered that because I thought it was just something simple that wasn't obvious to me but obvious to others... this site won't allow me to attach the pages as txt files - it's reading them as "attack vectors"... I can copy and paste the code here, but that's an awful lot ...

Content on Master Page won't completely right-align
Hi,
I have some content (actually a snippet) that I need to have appear on EVERY page that uses a particular master page. I need that content right-aligned under the toolbar proxy that's there. However, while I can get the content to appear right aligned to the actual content of the page, it will ...

I didn't change the label - I've never messed with that. Does it need to be changed?

Re: Is there a way to use bookmarks as TOC entries?
I made an image that shows each stage... hopefully, that will give you an idea of what I did. One thing improved in that the links in the built project actually go to the right location now. However, as you will see the links still show as the main topic title rather than subtitles. Hope this is ...

Re: Is there a way to use bookmarks as TOC entries?
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH?
That worked FABULOUSLY for one of the two bookmarks I need to add... but
1) while it shows correctly in the project, once built, it shows the book mark as the main topic name.
2) when I tried adding a second bookmark in that same topic, it does[/list]n't show up as the name ...

Is there a way to use bookmarks as TOC entries?
I have a topic with several sub titles within it. I want to create the main topic as the book in the TOC, with the subtitles under it as entries. I have bookmarked those subtitles, but I don't see a way to have them link to the TOC.

Setting of Position: Absolute is cutting off text
We have an online help system created. We suddenly found that the footers were floating up to meet the last text on the page. That's not what we wanted. We want the footer to stay at the bottom of the window. We contacted Madcap Tech Support and there seemed to be an easy solution: set "Position" to ...

Unable to move the preview pane/window
I have used Flare forever, but never had this happen... somehow, the preview window got moved up so high (and to the right) on my screen, I can't grab the top bar to move it. I have tried the Alt + space and then M to move with the arrows... but all that does is scroll. I need to move it down so I ...

Re: When your URL/page call contains special characters
Thanks.. I'm just re-reading the info about headers vs alias in the Madcap CSH guide.. and it appears that the devs can set up to call either identifiers OR the value numbers... so I think for us that's the way to go so we don't have to deal with underscores or periods. Does that make sense?

Re: When your URL/page call contains special characters
I'm also still not clear.. I'm so sorry... if they are called different things in the alias and in the header, how do they get mapped? Also, I cannot change anything about the app identifiers. As per this message, So your app needs to use identifier names with the underscores (or whatever you end up ...

Re: When your URL/page call contains special characters
Thank you so much for your response... I think what you are saying IS what Tech Support was telling me. I set up the header file with the url and a value. Then I go to the Alias file and map the identifier using the same value - see image I created to sort of show what tech support showed us to do ...

When your URL/page call contains special characters
We are having an issue with our context sensitive help mapping. I have contacted Tech Support and they came up with one idea and we are hoping that works.. but we are unable to test it until our engineers have time to actually implement the help into our application. I thought I'd ask here in case ...

Is there a way to create a dynamic glossary using a global glossary stored in Confluence?
We are trying to single-source our company glossary. The idea currently is to add a glossary to a help project - and base that glossary off the global glossary stored in Confluence. As definitions change and get updated (yep... it happens), we want to enable the glossary in any help system to be ...

Issues converting a Flare PDF to Word
We have a requirement that our Flare docs must go into the document management system as Word documents. However, we have to output to PDF for distribution - and output directly from Flare to Word isn't really great. So it's been decided that once the PDF is created, it then has to be converted to a ...

Is there a way to display 2 projects at once?
I am reviewing 2 projects that are nearly identical. It would speed up my review as I've already reviewed the first and I'd like to copy over comments from one to another without having to switch back and forth. I know I've done this in Word before, but can't find an answer as to if this is possible ...

One-time CSH Implementation
I've searched... and the only such instructions I've been able to find describe setting up a header file and providing the identifiers to the developer or vice versa... As the author, I've always been the one to create both the header file and the identifiers. And I never had to provide identifiers ...

WARNINGS: Micro Content response has incompatible tag???
We have A LOT of micro content in our Flare - but we just noticed that the build log is throwing warnings regarding our MicroContent - the warnings refer to incompatible tags for MadCap Keywords... we have NO IDEA what's causing this, nor how to resolve it. When using various micro content phrases ...

Can you keep MicroContent out of in filtered Search results
One of our writers set up a filter in our search fields for our knowledge base. He set up a filter so that you could enter a search word or phrase, then filter out whether you want it to be all results or just those in Release Notes. While it does focus on Release Notes, it also brings up ...

Re: Looking for Documentation on Hierarchy of Styles
Thanks, AGAIN, Rob!
I just want to make sure we are structuring everything as efficiently as possible. When I was first learning Flare, I seem to remember folks telling me not to bury the basic tag too deep... so I'm just trying to stay up with what's best and what's efficient.
Thanks so so much!
