So, in most of my topics, i have an image that is mapped... but it's not obvious that the reader can roll over areas to access links .. We have a little heading at the top of the image, but people are saying it needs to be more obvious...

OK... I got a resolution from Tech Support... it's more complicated than i expected.. but here it is.. and it def worked!

1. Close Flare
2. Browse to this path: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData (make sure hidden files and folders are turned on)\Roaming\MadCap Software\Flare

I have reset my layout several times, but when I bring up the Styles pane on my desktop, it's showing as 2 columns instead of one. I'm trying to work on a laptop so i'm losing real estate because of it. How do i get this back to one column?

I'm having issues getting information to group into a div. So i was looking at the code in the text editor. I found that instead of the usual delineation of lines , all the code is clumped together into one VEERRY long line of code.

Unfortunately not... he literally just copied over my existing names. I think i'm going to try deleting, then re-adding them all. oy.

PS The publish process is no different than it was with the original images that were replaced... what the heck would I look for in that causing an issue with something so basic... it's so weird... the replacement images are in the same folder, etc... even the same names.. he just saved over my ...

I've cleared cache several times. I have deleted the output, analyzer, and users folders. I went ahead and did a Clean Project as you recommended. NADA... no difference.


As for the UI guy... he was tasked with making it look pretty... but in doing so, he's just about removed all of ...

Our UI designer went thru and replaced some of the images used in our online help - he used new names for all of them and didn't reuse the original names. However, while i can see the all of the replaced images in the project xml editor, once the project is built and published, some of the images ...

I think this is true, but I just need to confirm... we have some pages in our platform where the page urls have all kinds of characters (?#, etc.) I know that I always need to replace / and . with underscores, but i'm being asked if we are limited to _ as a replacement for all special characters ...

I think there's some confusion as to on the left/right here... i'm talking about the side menu that appears on the right of the main help window... where currently it is a dark background with lite colored font.

no.. it's the right side menu i'm trying to change.

The image i sent was taken from the latest generated output... I have checked all master pages and none have a menu proxy that I can find.
