Re: Do I have to create alias files for an imported RH Project?

Unfortunately, my jobs have usually brought me to the paths of developers that were legends in their own mind... and were "too busy with more important things" than to be bothered with the likes of my issues! lol but i know what you mean!

Thanks for all the help... I'm going to try to do it ALL ...

Re: Do I have to create alias files for an imported RH Project?

FIRST... Thank you Ramon for taking the time and making the effort to help me in such detail... btw.. where is "Electric City"... i always thought that was London.. but i'm not sure.

here are my return comments:

Re: Do I have to create alias files for an imported RH Project?

the way i've done it before (at other companies)... and the way i'm understanding they want me to do it now is that I simply use the name of the screen that is assigned by the Developers (we do page level cont-sensitive help) and use it for their hook in...

so here are my next questions:

1) i was ...

Re: Do I have to create alias files for an imported RH Project?

Thanks for the responses... new questions:

1) Ramon: am I understanding you that you think that file names will be easier for the developer to use? we will be creating help for our web based software - therefore, i'm thinking webhelp is going to be the way to go. At this point, I think our project ...

Do I have to create alias files for an imported RH Project?

I need to create context sensitive help using an imported RH project. It appears that in order to have header files and identifiers (which equate to the mapping system in RH), you have to have an alias file. However.. now that i've imported the RH project (hhp), i don't see that it automatically ...

Re: Is Active -X required?

OK... so, Andrews method for creating a chm for limited distribution and review WORKED PERFECTLY.... for my current purposes...

however.. I also tried the "air" theory... but it only created another "ApplicationHelp.htm" file that opened up an empty window (at least i confirmed that the MOTW works ...

Re: Is Active -X required?

no.. i know that it requires download to a local drive... but at least i can send it out standalone for an overall review... that's what i'm looking to do right now... I need a file that i can send out for review... not on the web yet... is there a file format i can use to do that without sending ...

Thanks... sorry AGAIN.. if i'm just being the ...

sorry...one more...

to be able to use "attached" files - specifically Word or PDF docs... there will be an Active X issue...

is this the case if the attached files are "included" in the project only?

here's my reason for asking this... we want to create some sort of a way for our CLIENTS to ...

Re: Is there a way to include the cursor at capture?

I use it to

1) draw more attention to a particular area of the screen (e.g., click the RETRIEVE button)

2) and similar to item one.. it's sort of a landmarking feature to me...

i've MORE OFTEN THAN NOT included the cursor in screen caps. and other tools i've used have allowed for it... and i ...

the file is actually called ApplicationHelp.htm

the csh file is Application Help_csh.htm

both of these work for me.. but neither for him...

also.. there is an ApplicationHelp.xml file - that's the one that just opens up the html-looking code.

here's what i see in the output folder... and don't ...

Is there a way to include the cursor at capture?

In other screenshot tools i've used, I've had the ability to include the cursor in the screen shot... i.e., to move the cursor to a location, then capture the screen WITH the cursor as I've placed it on that window. However, I can't find a way to do this in Capture... I know you can ADD cursor after ...

thanks Lisa..

so what type of file would i distribute for internal review vs ...

Re: Is Active -X required?

I just checked the MOTW setting... it is not enabled (off)... so shouldn't we be able to view the output file (e.g., csh or html) without the Active X issue coming up... or have i misunderstood this as well?

Thanks for your patience.

Is Active -X required?

2 issues:
1) We are just building our first project with Flare... and noticed that when we open the CSH or HTML output files, it requires enabling of Active X controls. We don't want our clients to have to deal with that, etc...
Now, mind you, the files we have been opening that require the ...
