As we are getting deeper into single-sourcing our content, it is clear that the design will be a key to efficiently maintaining and updating the content. As such, which design in Flare is proven to be more efficient:

We are single-sourcing content, which has been imported from RoboHelp into Flare, with additional content that has previously been migrated from another application into Flare. During the import, Flare appears to import the existing RoboHelp variable set, naming it Primary for each project.

The method we are using to single-source our content to multiple outputs is:

- A single style sheet containing all of the styles
- Multiple mediums for the output types
- Multiple targets with the various mediums applied

This approach is working well for us.

The Flare v4.2 Help indicates variables can be used in TOC entries. However, a build of the output does not reflect the variablization. Instead, the entries display the mcvariable syntax, as entered according to the Help, which states:
