Re: MasterPage, PageLayout, PDF
I'll give it a try, but the apostrophe is in the Target name, not the Page Layout filename.

Re: MasterPage, PageLayout, PDF
Yes. I have a PDF Target and a Page Layout. Page Layout is shown here.
And here's the assignment of the Page Layout.
And when I build, I build the correct one.
Maybe you see something I don't?

The PDF also does not reflect the 1" margins.

Re: MasterPage, PageLayout, PDF
Thanks for your suggestions.
I have deleted the Page Layout and created a new one. Specified test headers and footers and so forth. Still doesn't work.
I have checked and rechecked all the settings so many times.

Re: MasterPage, PageLayout, PDF
Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't fix the issue. It seems like nothing I do affects the PDF. The only thing that has an effect on the output is when I use a different style sheet. Fonts and such change. But I don't seem to be able to affect margins, headers, footers, and so on.

Thanks so much for posting such helpful instructions.

Re: MasterPage, PageLayout, PDF
Thanks Nita,
I had been working with the master pages and reading those very topics. I had them reversed in terms of what worked with PDF and what didn't. Now I've created a Page Layout, and I'm testing it out, but even though I have it assigned in the target in the Master Page Layout setting (I've ...

MasterPage, PageLayout, PDF
I'm creating a PDF and am fairly new at this single-sourcing thing.
I've got a help project created and it's working just fine right now. I can generate a plain old PDF from the help content, but I want to add headers, footers, TOC and so on.

Re: Conditional content in WebHelp plus two PDF outputs
Starting from the inside out, from what I perceive to be the closest to the files and text and moving out toward my end result:
I want to mark certain topics (I don't have conditional text at the text level only at the topic level) to be part of the User content and other topics to be part of the ...

Re: Conditional content in WebHelp plus two PDF outputs
See, I was thinking I could have just one TOC that contained everything, but then mark the different TOC entries conditionally.
I get a bit confused about the meaning of target and the meaning of destination.

Conditional content in WebHelp plus two PDF outputs
Okay, here's what I have to configure:
Help system with two major sections (User, Admin). User to be published as WebHelp and separately as PDF. I've assigned the conditional setting to the Admin section so that it isn't generated with the WebHelp, so I've got that all set.
Next thing I need to do ...

I get this and have made it work, but is there a way to edit the background color of a mouseover item, in addition to the text color?

left nav gutter between edge of window and book icons
Can't quite wrap my head around how small this gutter is.
Does anyone know how to make this space bigger? Can't locate the control for this one.
Thanks!

Re: space before changes when I use an <a> tag in the first line
Lisa,
Wanted to let you know what I discovered: the space before *is* off considerably when I look at the table in the Flare application, but when I build the help and look at it in the browser, it looks fine.
Who'd'a thunk?
Thanks again.

Thanks Lisa,
I checked the <a> style. No problem there.
No complex selectors that I can see.
I'm baffled.

Re: space before changes when I use an <a> tag in the first line
This is what it looks like. I have provided three rows. The <a> tag is inside the <td> tag and the style is the same for all three rows.

<td class="TableStyle_TableStyle_Body_0_0_RowSep_ColSep" style="padding-left: 6px;padding-right: 6px;padding-top: 6px;padding-bottom: 6px;">Occupation</td ...

space before changes when I use an <a> tag in the first line
The spacing in the table is uniform, except when the first line of a row contains an <a> tag. Then the space before the first line is greater than it should be. Any ideas?

Re: WYSIWYG Editor
Thing is, I'm quite accustomed to editing in a text editor; it's my preference in fact. Something like EditPlus or even Notepad, except the colors are lacking in the latter. And I checked out the <t> menu, but didn't realize that I could click the very first item on the menu, since I've never seen ...

Re: Output Folder\<my name>?
Great suggestions. I do clean the project, but the folder with my name on it remains. I'll use your advice and not submit the Output folder to source control.
So nice to have this forum to ask questions.

Re: Output Folder\<my name>?
I am using a Destination. But even still, when I submit my project files to the client's source control, it would be nice to not have my name in there. Client hasn't complained, but still.
Thanks so much for your assistance.

I have searched the Help, but I'm not so sure the search finds what I need to know.
