Hi all,
I wanted to post the response I got from tech support.
Make the TOC containing the topic your "Master" TOC. Then, open the Target you are going to use to generate this TOC, set the TOC in the "Master TOC" in the "General" tab for the Target. Generate the output, the correct Pagelayout ...

Cannot apply pagelayouts to topics
Hi all,
I'm converting docs from FrameMaker to Flare. I'm trying to apply a specific page layout to one of the topics and it just isn't taking. I've applied page layouts in the past and everything has gone smoothly, but this time, the topic and the layout are not working together at all. Help ...

Re: Best way to get a bulleted list into a table
Lisa,
I'm so excited! That worked!
Only one problem: the bullets are showing up in the column to the left of the column where they belong. This isn't a problem for my current table because I'm using the table in a different way than I normally do. However, in a regular table with inside borders ...

Re: Best way to get a bulleted list into a table
Lisa,
Now that I've got the complex selectors in my stylesheet, how do I apply them to text? I've got my cursor in the table, on the text, but when I open the Styles pane, they are not there.
I did add them in the internal text editor and I can see them in my stylesheet editor...

Re: Where's my tag hint bar?
Hi Steve,
I'm referring to the yellow bar that appears under the first word at the beginning of each block of text. You can click on the bar to get what looks like a right-click menu. I wasn't sure what it was called, so I did some poking around and found the name "tag hint bar".

Where's my tag hint bar?
Hi all,
I just upgraded to Flare v.6. After working for a couple of hours, I wanted to apply a different style to some text and I realized that my tag hint bar is gone.
Is this how version 6 is supposed to work or did something go wrong when IT installed it?
Thanks,

Best way to get a bulleted list into a table
Can someone suggest the best way to put a bulleted list inside a table? I have tried simply using Flare's ul style, but the indent is too drastic for this table. Of course, I don't want to mess with the ul style properties.

I've checked all of these things. I even tried changing the style of the text in the header, but no luck. I guess I'll submit my issue to tech support. Thanks for all of your help.

Hi Riley,

Re: Two header / footer "objects", one left-aligned, one right?
Hi Cecily,
I apologize for being unclear in my post. I meant to say that I used variables in the master pages in FrameMaker, where I created the original docs. Now that I'm in Flare, you're right, I am working with page layouts.
I don't think that Kafka would be very excited about Help files.

Generic style text not appearing in output
Hi,
I've created 5 generic classes so that my Typographical Conventions table displays the paragraph styles that users will see in the help. For example, I've got a 'p.note' and I'm using the generic '.note' in the table. The problem that I'm running into is with the output (both PDF and WebHelp ...
