Madcap Support sent me the following information. It's working fine for me with Quicktime .mov files, so it's no longer an issue.
M4V is a file container format used by Apple's iTunes application. A .m4v file is not a supported filetype to be used in a Flare project. You'll need to export your ...

Re: Cannot get videos to play on iPhone from WebHelp Mobile
It’s actually working great now on my iPhone and iPad with the Quicktime .mov format. I no longer have to enlarge the view on my iPhone. It’s just weird that both Adobe Premiere Elements and Camtasia use m4v as output for mobile video, but you cannot import that type of file into Flare. (I've ...

Re: Cannot get videos to play on iPhone from WebHelp Mobile
I solved the problem by saving the video as a Quicktime movie (.mov) in Camtasia, which I could import into Flare.

Cannot get videos to play on iPhone from WebHelp Mobile
I created an m4v movie in Camtasia 7 and tried to import it into my Flare 7 project (Project > Add Multimedia), but Flare is not recognizing the format. Which video format is recommended for iPhones and the Safari browser for WebHelp Mobile?

Re: Search no longer works in Webhelp Mobile (Flare 7)
I just tested the Search feature with four browsers. In works in all except Google Chrome (tested in version 12.0.742.122).
Works in:
• Firefox 3.6.18
• Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421
• Sarari 5.0.5

Search no longer works in Webhelp Mobile (Flare 7)
When I first created WebHelp Mobile, the Search function worked. But now I get an error each time: "There was an error during the search. Please try again". I have a table of contents, Index, and About on the Home page.

Re: Any Webhelp Mobile examples on the web?
I purchased Joe Welinske's EPUB book just published in June, 2011. I reviewed it on my blog at http://www.ifcatscouldwrite.com/2011/07/11/book-review-developing-user-assistance-for-mobile-applications-by-joe-welinske/ . Joe provides several links to examples of mobile help at http://www.writersua ...

Re: Flare and Mobile Help
Yes, I'm just now creating mobile help with Flare 7. I have not been able to find any examples online, however, other than Madcap's Web site (but no customers' examples). It's very easy to do. I'm trying to find best practices (font size, etc.).

FrameMaker Target as Separate .fm Files per Flare Topic
I created a FrameMaker target in Flare 7 which created output as an .fm and .book file. Now that I have these in FrameMaker 10, the .fm and .book files are one 400+ page file each. Is there a way to set up the Target Editor to create separate .fm files per Flare topic titles?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Users create profile but do not receive confirmation email
It works now on IE 9, Firefox 3.6.17 and Chrome 11.0.696.68. I'm trialing Madcap's Feedback as a service, so maybe something was wrong with their server. One note: The confirmation email to my Hotmail was sent to the Junk box. Other than that, it's working fine now.

Dave,
I haven't talked to a developer yet to change anything in the new Flare project created from RoboHelp. So we'll try your suggestions.
Thanks.

OK well that didn't work (I renamed the default.htm file to default2.htm, then I renamed default_CSH.htm to default.htm. I read the next comment from Dave, and will talk to one of our developers. This is a project converted from RoboHelp using Map IDs.

CSH not working in Flare v7 WebHelp created from RoboHelp 7
I imported my RoboHelp 7 project into Flare v7. I cannot get the context-sensitive help (CSH) to work. It works with the "Test CSH API Calls" feature. But it does not work when testing with our software application. My RoboHelp project uses the typical Map IDs and has a BSSCDefault.h file. In Flare ...

Users create profile but do not receive confirmation email
I am trialing MadPak ML (Flare V7 including Feedback V3). Users can submit comments as long as I have enabled anonymous comments in the Feedback Explorer. If I deselect that option so that they must create a user profile ("Create Feedback Service Profile) to enter a comment, the user fills out the ...

I'm not having the problem now either. Strange. I'll keep an eye on it and see what's running on my PC the next time it happens, if it does. Thanks very much.

"Flare Compared with RoboHelp" tutorial text outside bubbles
Every time I try to view the "Flare Compared with RoboHelp tutorial" (which was done with Mimic), when I get to the 66th frame in the Lesson 1, the text displays outside of the bubble (balloon) and is illegible. Then all of the frames display like this. This happens when I also have Flare 5 running ...
