Re: What CSS3 support would you like to see added for PDF output
i would definitely like to see the CSS3 multiple columns support for print; column-count etc that would be great. it would solve a problem i'm having now.

Re: TOC as startup topic?
a redirect worked as i posted above. i can't remember exactly the details, but essentially you tell the iphone browser to go to a different page than the one it loads when the help opens. i can't give you the source though as i stopped working at the place where i did that. good luck.

i've since dug a little deeper and discovered that it is indeed quite basic and won't do what we need. i suppose that's a difficult wheel to reinvent anyways. thanks for your replies.

Flare glossary for terminology management?
Hello folks,
has anyone used a flare glossary for terminology management? I'm trying to create something that we can use internally as a reference for terms, definitions, allowed synonyms, disallowed synonyms, and possibly links between them. It's not exactly a glossary, not exactly an index, but ...

export the links from link viewer?
Hi everyone,
Has anyone else ever wanted to export the link viewer results for a particular snippet / set of snippets? I can use the report option (Flare 7) 'used snippets' but this returns thousands of entries for my project. is there a way to do it on a file by file basis?
thanks

Re: Create a Snippet from a Table
(Flare 7) i'm trying to create snippets from table rows... doesn't work. tried the manual editing way suggested higher up the thread. nope. you can create the snippet but Flare throws a wobbly, because you're _supposed_ to have <tr> nested inside <table>. i think the parser could probably be a ...

Re: How to exclude unused files from Webhelp?
i had the same problem with tons of unwanted images being published over and over because I generated many outputs from one project. I got around it by using another feature of flare> included tags always win over excluded tags:
1. create an 'Exclude' tag and apply it to the top level images folder ...

Re: TOC as startup topic?
i tried doing a redirect from the default.htm to toc_0.htm which worked just dandy. don't know what else i broke in the process though, although i do know i don't have the search field anymore. i put the meta refresh type of redirect in just before the end of the head section. there is a lot of ...

Hi there,

Re: publish target publishes adjacent content
Just a quick followup to possibly help anyone else out there with the same issue. I took Dave's suggestion and applied conditional tags right on the content subfolders - and also selectively excluded those tags in my two targets - which at a stroke fixed my problem. The publish engine also ...

This may look a bit silly to all you hardcore flare enthusiasts, but i'd just like to thank MC for v6 in general and the mobile help thing in specific. Re: PDF output images are too large...
Hi Peter,
I just wrestled my way through this exact problem. What you want to do is set a style for images that has max-width set to a sensible value for print (not pixels) and set max-height to auto. This doesn't affect the aspect ratio. I don't think the Flare CSS editor will let you set "auto ...

Flare 5.0.1 update
Hi there,
I've just run Flare and been invited to update to 5.0.1. First of all, some praise for Madcap - awesome user experience, as the popup tells me the patch addresses an issue I had, and I was told about it automatically, and could seamlessly download from there. great!
My issue is that the ...

Oh, and Lisa, the problem with link style is actually an IE8 problem, not Flare, which is why I couldn't find anything on it.
thanks
