Hi Paul, I narrowed the cryptic Flare error down to this entry in my stylesheet:
td
{
padding: 2px, 3px, 2px, 3px;
}
Commas. I won't beat myself up too severely, support didn't catch it either. But I will let them know!
Thanks - John

Re: Changing the background highlight color of the accordion
It should be as easy as, e.g. for TOC, AccordionItem > TOC > BackgroundGradientHover. Works for me!

Table style prevents creation of a table
Hi -
I'm trying to break out of the confines of table stylesheets (lack of flexibility) and decided to define table elements (table, th, tr, etc.) in the project stylesheet. I thought some folks out there work this way. What I've encountered is, as soon as I add the "table { } " element to the ...

Hi Bob -
You could check with sales support, but I think you'd be fine installing the feedback server software on a standalone server. Just enter the feedback server's URL in each of your Flare Help project's output target (e.g. WebHelp Plus). As long as the standalone server is discoverable, the ...

Bug! Just to wrap things up on this:
Flare (7.0.1)'s review functionality ignores any stylesheet referenced by an import directive. E.g. If, in your Help project's default style sheet, you have the line:
@import url('./MasterStyles.css');

Re: Getting CSH WebHelp to Reuse Target Window
Hi -
We reuse two Help displays in some WebHelp projects. One is a full-blown frame set and another is a pseudo pop-up, which we design using skins. As already mentioned, target="MCWebHelp" works. For maintaining/reusing a second window, we specify target="_MCWebHelpCSH" in the Help calls ...

Yep, I was just hoping it was an option I was overlooking.
I leave you with this: I did a view source on the Flare Help, and they apparently use drop downs, not togglers (though my isolated sampling may not be universal). So, I created a couple of drop downs and did a search and lo and behold, they ...

Right now, the company is on IE8. No other browsers are allowed to be on users' machines. If they were, it definitely would be worth comparing!

Re: Search and Togglers
Yes, that's what I'm saying, it doesn't work for us. Two different projects, WebHelp Plus, Flare 7, affecting both Search and Quick Search.
If I expand the toggler, the search term is highlighted, so search is working, just not working as we'd like!

Well now, I could start a fresh discussion, but found this perfectly worthy unused one.
Did you, or anyone else, figure out how to get togglers to behave as they do in MadCap's own Help (automatically expand when they contain a search term)? I don't see any relevant options in the WebHelp Plus ...

Yep, that was the plan originally, e.g.

Re: List image positioning in Web and HTML Help
ChoccieMuffin, I went with li.note, etc., and the way to control the issue you describe is with list-style-position (inside vs. outside). I also tried a p.note solution but alas, the XML editor overlaps the icon and the note text. Not pretty and the subject of another post and XML editor bug.

Hey, thanks for the replies.

Hi -
We are transitioning from RoboHelp. We used to output our WebHelp to Word, and reviewers could use 'track changes' and 'comments' to specify changes. The Word target for Flare 6 is a problem for us now, because Word is not CSS compliant (just too many issues).

Issue with /*comments*/ in style sheet relocating.
Hi -
In an effort to document our various CSS styles, I've been adding comments to the style sheet. What I am seeing when I later open the style sheet in the text editor is that the /* comments */ are relocated to the top of the file, where they make no sense (i.e. they are out of context).

Yeah, I see I went down a rat hole after the headerless table stylesheet incident. I did think the stylesheet would default the header option, so I wasn't paying attention to it. Thanks for rescuing the newbie.
