Riley, I don't mean to appear impolite, but can't you just make one of your print targets the primary target?
Hey Nita! That's not impolite — thanks for the idea.
I'll think about it. Doing that does feel like a circumvention rather than a true fix insofar as PDF output is a secondary output ...

Get Page Layout Editor to use print stylesheet file?

For Flare 11, IF a project has a separate print-only CSS stylesheet file, AND one is editing Page Layouts, THEN is there some way to get the Page Layout editor to use the print-only CSS file?

A quick update: Madcap support suggested that my use of a DIV to manage page breaks in lists could be supplanted by creating a LI class that included the page-break-inside: avoid attribute.
Cheers & hope this helps,

Re: Cirvumvented: DIV —> LI + Word Target = LI —> newline
Rather, because Word does not support divs, I am fairly certain that when Flare generates a Word doc, it unbinds whatever is in a div from the div, that it, it strips the div tag outright.
That's perfectly acceptable.
But it does then affirm the problem I saw wherein LIs that were the first item ...

Hey Nita:
I figured out early on that Word doesn't "understand" DIVs from a positioning standpoint. I didn't realize that DIVs in general confounded Word in non-positioning ways.
If that's the case it gets in the way of using DIVs to, for example, manage page breaks in PDF Targets. I can accept ...

Wrap one or more LI s in a DIV so that the LI is the first element in the DIV.

As mentioned, only the page number tends to be clickable. Maybe that can help with the troubleshooting.
Additionally, I would add that sometimes Word x-refs can be a bit wonky. I'd try a number of them in different places, and make sure that the heading that you're referencing does not contain a ...

I'm having problems with xrefs in Word (2007), too.
Flares 10 or 11, the XREF format is "{i}{paratext}{/i}". Dead on arrival in Word. Other XREFs to seem to work.
No idea what to do.
Cheers & thanks,
Riley
