'Quick help' - not quick if you don't know how
Hi, I'm working on a new project where we would like to try to provide help similar to Flare's own 'quick help' that appears on some fields (such as on the Target Editor - Advanced tab). Is this what's referred to as 'embedded help' in the Flare Help? If so, the Flare Help seems to suggest that ...

Re: Index Links for 'See' and 'See also' references
Bizarre. If I create the 'See' link using this syntax:
{nopage}Canines{see}Dogs
I get:
Canines See Dogs
So I guess I'll create them that way instead of in the Index Links Editor.

Re: Flare help...why is it no better than anyone else's?
I like the Flare Help. 9 times out of 10 it answers my question without too much jumping around between topics. I'd be chuffed if all the Help I'd written over the last 20+ years was as useful. And in all that time I've never worked for a company that wanted its error messages documenting.

Index Links for 'See' and 'See also' references
I am trying to use Index Links for 'See' and 'See also' references.
The Flare Help shows the example:
Canines See Dogs
But what I'm getting is:
CaninesSee Dogs
How do I insert some space before the 'See' reference? I've tried various CSS settings without success.
Thanks
Helen

Re: Spacing between bullet and its paragraph
Thanks but that still doesn't work. The bullet character is included inside the 'padded' area, so the space between the bullet character and the text doesn't change.

Re: Spacing between bullet and its paragraph
Err, the second example should have more space between the bullet and the text. Hope you get my drift...

Spacing between bullet and its paragraph
Hi, how do I increase the space between a bullet symbol and the paragraph that it relates to? I've tried all sorts of margin and padding settings but none of them have given me what I want. For example:

* this is the bullet paragraph I want (with ...

Re: Pre-merge Index File
Thanks Dave, we've realised that we need to have it turned OFF for what we're wanting to do. Otherwise if we remove a module from the \Subsystems folder the index entries for that module still appear in the Index (nothing happens when you click on them).

Pre-merge Index File
Hi, I have a question about the 'Pre-merge Index File' option on the Target - Performance window.
I have a master project with 6 child projects. I'm merging the child projects into the master project using the 'Flare Project and Target' option. (Output type is Webhelp)

Thanks. Publish might be useful afterall - to put the output in a particular location rather than just under the project directory.

This is probably a really dumb question, but why do I need to PUBLISH my output? What does PUBLISH give me that I don't get from BUILD?

Exclude current topic from a concept link?
Hi, we are using concept links to create our 'See also' lists in WebHelp. I would like to know if there's a way of excluding the CURRENT topic from the concept link. For example, lets say I have five topics (thanks to the Flare Help for this example):
Choosing a Dog
Feeding a Dog

Re: Maximum number of topics accessible via merged index?
In the end I don't think the 'Pre-merge index file' option was a factor here. The problem was that in the merged output, clicking on some index entries gave no results (even though we knew there were topics that used that entry).

Re: Multiple versions of a glossary term + one definition
Erm, that means I get all three terms listed in the generated Glossary. I'm probably asking for too much but is there any way of specifying that you only want one variant of the term to appear in the generated Glossary?
Thanks

Multiple versions of a glossary term + one definition
Is it possible to have multiple versions of a glossary term linked to the same definition?
For example, I would like to have 'currency', 'Currency' and 'currencies' all linked to the same glossary definition. Is this possible?
I'm using Flare 7.2 to generate Web Help.
Thanks

Upon further reading of the Flare Help it looks as though I want a feature like 'Search Filters' that applies to the Index. So that when the user displays the index he can enter the term 'template' then choose to filter the results for Product A, or Product B or Product C.

Indexes in merged WebHelp
We are looking to migrate from a bespoke Help tool to Flare. Using our bespoke tool, multiple projects are 'hooked up' via one TOC, but indexes are displayed separately per product.
