Is there any way to take the content of a Flare slideshow and display it in a PDF document?
The default (so far as I can tell) is that the slideshow is simply omitted. Sort of makes sense because you wouldn't expect to see a dynamic element in a static page.
But, each slide in the slideshow is ...

Re: Best practice for print figures with fig captions
I know that there's a tutorial for that somewhere, but I can't find it now. Closest I could find is a tip in this topic:

The question does make sense, but you might be missing out on something valuable here.

Can media be nested in a style sheet?
Okay, I could try it and see what happens, but I figure that I'll get better information faster if I ask...
In my style sheet, I have an @media print section. So far so good.
I also re-use topics for different projects.
Some of those projects need headings that are numbered and some don't. Most ...

Re: Linked files in the same project
I'm curious why snippets won't work, but anyway... If the topic is never going to change, and if you absolutely insist on having a separate file for every TOC entry (usually a good idea) then why not make a copy of it? Otherwise, I don't see how you could have a single file with virtual entries in ...

Re: Masterpage image not in output
Making a wild guess here, but is there any chance that there's a conditional on the image?
What would happen if you manually put the image tag back into the rendered output?

Re: Page breaks revisited
Thanks for that. It will work with smaller projects, but not for my 4000+ topic project, in which many topics can run to five or six printed pages.
Still looking for something a bit more automatic.

Page breaks revisited
I'm having trouble with page breaks when printing from a TopNav topic. Certainly not the first, as I've found by searching the forums, but the conventional solutions don't seem to be working.
My Styles.css file includes the following in the @media print section:

Re: TopNav printing only one page
Solved. The problem was in fact that I had position:absolute as a property of my main section. Absolutely no memory of why I did that, but it must have seemed like a good idea at the time.

TopNav printing only one page
I chose the Styles section of the forum for this question because a web search suggests that the fault is likely in my CSS code.
The problem is that when anyone prints a long topic from my TopNav output, only a single page will be rendered for printing. The portion of the topic currently on the ...

I bumped into this today and am currently fixing it in a bunch of topics. Was about to post in the Tips & Tricks forum, but checked first and found this thread.

Re: TopNav topic mini-TOC issue
Open up an inspector window in your browser and step into the the code. Your <form class="search" (or whatever the search bar is embedded within) overlaps the top of the side menu.
Best would be to shrink the width the search bar somehow. 'fraid that the css for that is a bit beyond what I have ...

Re: Can we name a specific color in palette?
You can rename the ones in your saved list. Save the red that you want, then in the saved list name or rename it to what you want. To rename, click twice, slowly.
Added bonus: the list of saved colours will be shorter and easier to work with than the full list of MC's named colours.

My understanding may be imperfect, so hopefully someone will correct me if I lead you astray with the following...

Re: Perfect browser fit for Top Nav Home page
Sounds like you want some css code that will make the footer "float to the bottom". (Which is kind of like saying, "sink to the top".)
Nothing to do with Flare, this is a css limitation. I've seen the topic batted about over on Stack Overflow, with some very clever solutions offered up.

Re: Is topnav a good idea, friendly user?
Different altogether. The other thread looks like you want an HTML5 Tripane output. TopNav isn't going to give you a navigation pane. You could try to fudge one by adding the index proxy to every topic, or by doing something fancy with some Javascript in the master page that will do an Include. Put ...

Thanks Nita! That worked like a charm (after I removed the extra space I had after the colon). I hadn't realized that the {n} at each level would maintain a separate count.

I've read through the earlier discussions on numbering, but cannot quite see how to achieve what I need. Hope that someone can help.

Try clicking the Clean Target button in the Builds window, then running it again.
