Got most of the other things fixed (the compatibility settings = OFF, plus select Run as administrator).
Now my cursor is absolutely enormous in Flare. Any thoughts?

Re: The mysteries of bullet alignment
what's the best css way to align bullets (and numbering) flush left , with the text? This seems to be the design trend so have to go along with it :)

Re: Frame to Flare
I'm also a Frame to Flare newbie, I've imported Word a lot but there are some new issues.
There are a LOT of broken links. In the files, they have names like 'import-link-appconfig-js_84038_484044'

o, argh
running parallels on a mac with multiple displays. I'm screwed.

Display incorrect, missing headers
My Analyzer does not display the column header row, but only a thin sliver. I can hover to see the text but wonder if anybody else has found this?

ah, sent off a support ticket mentioning this as it wasn't specified that it was windoze, not flare.
however, after _much_ digging (none of the answers on the web match what I see in the UI, there's no rollback option), I found the kb number and don't seem to have it installed.

Second frame book import updates links to first - true?
I think I've disproved the claim that if I import a framemaker book, then import another, the links between them will then 'work'. No reduced link issues and it doesn't really make sense to me - but MadCap did say it works.
Anybody done this, or know?

I don't see a way to rescan the selected target, but from reading notes here (this is my first time using Analyzer as a full product) it looks like all these updates happen in real time, is that correct?

Re: Flare 12 64 Bit version Slow?
So one person said use compatibility checker - which sets Flare to be compatible with Windows 8
Then someone else said they have success when they turn that off.
Hmm, guess I can try both but that's confusing!
Also installed 64-bit ghostscipt - hope it just installs over the 32-bit one, if it's ...

Merge topics onto a single page
I remember doing this in the past but can't remember how - I believe by mapping low-level heading styles not used in the content.
I want to merge nested topics into the top one - whether or not to show in the TOC is secondary.
Is there a way to do this without manually copy/paste?
Thanks

I did do that, thanks
figured out a couple things tho...
1. The specific issue I was having, about so many topics with the same name, was because there were variables in the Frame file headings.
2. It is framemaker import, and it seemed to create a lot more than this top-level topic. So looks like ...

new topic styles vs paragraph mapping
I thought the way this worked was if I select ONLY ChapTitle to be a new topic, Flare will only find those headers in Frame and ONLY make new topics from each of those.
However, it seems to map all h1s to new topics instead.
In paragraph mapping, I did map ChapterTitle to h1

Thanks, pretty much what I concluded. Doing a migration and users here thought the import file worked differently than it does.
I knew tho....
Yes, and you can delete the list of source files but the topics imported are still linked - even when you copy the import file, which is what someone tried ...

onclick code for toolbar javascript
I've added a custom toolbar item and want it to link to support.
I used to have this saved but don't find it, and none of the suggestions I'm reading are working.
Can anyone advise? there are a lot of ways to do this but not sure the specific flare application (and not js expert)
thanks

Is there a way to do this? I used an article but suspect it is out of date as didn't work as expected:

which uses this code inside the skin's toolbar javascript area:
