Set Variables in TOC for PDF output to be used in filename?
Hi all,
So I have a lot of short PDFs that I have set up to be creating a PDF per topic. Works fine.
The problem is, I want to add a variable to each of these TOC entry names as this name is used for the filename, and I want to append a version number to the file name.

Re: Disable Search filters for specific Target?
Ah solution found!
Create a new search filter, delete all filters, apply that filter to the target. Nothing shows up.

Right-click on the style, Copy, right-click again, Paste. It will name it the same with a _1 prefix. Just rename and you're away. I do it all the time.

Re: Orphan/Widow scontrol wins out over page break settings?
Yeah the <li> tags have <p> tags within them. but this shouldn't be messing with it. The orphan/widow stuff is set in the <body> tag but then the page-break control is set in the <li> tags.
It is really frustrating, and I'm sure didnt used to happen like this, I've tried messing with all sorts of ...

Orphan/Widow scontrol wins out over page break settings?
Hi all,
Just started building some new PDFs and I've noticed some of my <li> blocks are now breaking the pages with only a few lines - it looks to be down to widow/orphan control which I haven't messed with, its just set to the default 2 lines.
Question is, does widow/orphan control over rule the ...

Turns out this is a bug in Flare. Solution at this point is to uncheck the Marge TOC Chunks optiopn in the Target settings.

Re: Styles Issue in Preview and Build
Can you post a few screen shots. One of the content in flare, with the html tags showing on the left of the editor for the ul and ol lists and one of the output that you see.
If could be a stylesheet medium issue, you might not have set it in your target.

Create a new condition and set it to Exclude by default
Hi all,

Is there anyway to create a new condition that is set to Exclude by default in all targets ...

Heading with different top spacing based on page break
Hi all,
I've noticed a pretty strange little thing in my PDF output and hoping someone might know a fix.
My H1, H2, and H3 levels have a different top spacing, whether its margin or padding I'm not sure, depending on whether I set the topic to break to the next page or not.
Now, I have set my H1 ...

Re: Word 2007 -- Summarizing target output problems?
Here you go...using this, don't set any images in Flare to be resized. Mine run about between 500px up to 900px in width. These fall off the page in Word, but this will find those large images, resize them, and then apply a border around all iamges that I have which are greater than 80px. There are ...

Re: Including PDFs in webhelp outputs - best practice
The print option only works on the topic that is currently being viewed. Similar to the print you'd see if you did it from the browser, but it lets you tidy it up a little. There is no way to combine a group of topics and print on the fly that I know of.

Re: Including PDFs in webhelp outputs - best practice
How many PDFs are we talking here? As far as targets go, not sure. I have around 30 at the moment, similar to you, a lot of additional PDFs, and infact from those I get about 60 PDFs or more, one PDF per topic in a TOC - but thats another story.

Re: Graphics not behaving consistently
Have you set the img class in the PDF medium? If you haven't then it will use the settings in default. Are you using a specific size, or a percentage adjustment? It is also worth looking at the properties of each image to make sure it hasnt been set there as well. Right click on and image, go to ...

Re: Graphics not behaving consistently
What medium are you using when you generate to PDF? you said you use non-print for webhelp, are you using 'print' for PDF by any chance? If so, check in that medium if the image sizes are different. Also, are you using more than one img class, or do you just have one? If its a stylesheet setting ...

Have you checked your stylesheet mediums to make sure its not being set somewhere else when building to PDF?
If you have, and its not that, can you post the code from the page.

Re: WebHelp Search and boolean operators. Not working as expecte
Thanks, but I've read over both of those before. I'm just confused as to why im not getting results back in the manner that I would expect, and in a lot of cases getting no results when I know there is a topic there that matches it.

All topics have a heading, which the search seems to work with. As expected.

Re: Dynamic font size, possible?
Not quite what I'm after. You can do that without using % font sizes. But it increases everything on the page. Buttons, images etc. I just want to change the font size. This forum has a font size control top right under the search box. Something like that would work.
