Re: Open topics from TOC with double-click not properties window

Yup.
double-click right now opens properties window. Instead I have to hold CTRL then double click to open my topic.....I dont want to use CTRL anymore. I just want to double click and have it open the topic.

Flare using HUGE amounts of RAM

Just wondering if there are any reported issues with Flare eating massive amounts of RAM? Mine is eating around 1GB and has crashed twice today. It slows down, and sometimes the RAM consumption will drop.....but 1GB seems pretty excessive......

When I open my project, 3 pages load, a single topic ...

Control spacing/alignment between the number and text

Hi all,
I have a few list styles, when the list gets over 9, and the number 10 is displayed, rather than indenting to the right and keeping a straight left column, it indents to the left.
It means I'm left with a list where the space between the numbers and the text is fixed but the spacing between ...

Applying styles to snippets

Is it possible to apply styles to a snippet once it has been embedded?

I'd prefer to keep my snippets as 'pure' as possible, with only character styles in place. This way I can embed the snippet into a variety of topics and different places where different paragraph/list styles can be placed. i.e a ...

Re: keyboard shortcuts for styles

I ran into this issue as well, and typing "p.smallspace" didn't seem much faster to me, so i downloaded a hot key program "http://www.autohotkey.com/"

It isn't too terrible to understand or learn. From my perspective, its a programming language for the keyboard and mouse. I haven't dove into it ...

Re: keyboard shortcuts for styles

thanks for that.

Yeah bit of a bummer theres no way to set custom shortcuts for styles. Biggest annoyance I think so far is the way to apply styles. Not having all the styles in one list is so frustrating, and having to apply something like a list style from the Format menu and then selecting the ...

Re: Batch rename htm files?

If you want to rename the source files, you could try FAR , which I believe has a multi-file rename.
...just keep in mind you will break the links from within Flare to the source files.

You would then have to do a find and replace inside the project, changing the old file name to the new ...

keyboard shortcuts for styles

Hi all,
Just curious as to what keyboard shortcuts are available in Flare, mainly shortcuts for applying styles, re-doing the last action, setting custom shortcuts for specific styles etc?

Thanks,
Nick

Batch rename htm files?

hi all,

Is there any facility to batch rename source files?

After a large import, I have a lot of htm files that have spaces between the words and I'd like to replace the spaces with _ (under scores) even if I could set this at publishing so that at least my output files are created with ...

Re: Import word doc to existing project

Yep, I reimported the whole thing again, took a little while as there was a ton of content. But probably be easier from here anyway.

Just means if we end up adding stuff later down the track, its going to still be a huge pain in the ..... to do it.

Have ended up with a load of junk styles too, 25 ...

Re: Import word doc to existing project

Yeah I'm looking at re-importing everything again, and including the extra 11 documents. Its not exactly ideal, but theres not much other way around it. Really surprising that Flare wont let you map against list styles, considering the extent and detail they go to with their stylesheets etc, leaving ...

Re: Import word doc to existing project

So I half got it sorted out.

I was leaving the Preserve MS Word Styles check box selected when I was importing. With that removed, and with the stylesheet selected above its importing using the same stylesheet and letting me set the p and char styles.

Only thing is it wont let me set list styles ...

Re: Import word doc to existing project

I have a master style sheet set, but those imported topics are still using the newly created stylesheet, and creating additional styles, i.e my main stylesheet has a style p.manualbody, now there is a p.manualbody1, this is basically the case for the entire thing.

Using the File List, it wont ...

Re: Import word doc to existing project

If I import the 2nd document, it applies styles, but it creates a new stylesheet rather than using the same one. and I cant see how to change all the topics so that they use just the one CSS. I dont want to end up with 12 stylesheets. surely this is something that can be done, I must just be messing ...

Re: Import word doc to existing project

So Flare will let me create a new project from a Word doc, and will create styles from the list styles and everything else in that word doc.
but then when I want to add another word doc via import, I cant map across to those same styles?

Thats crazy. I would've thought this functionailty was ...

Re: Import word doc to existing project

I'm still having trouble with this, main problem is being able to map all of my styles. I've imported one word doc, and I want to import a few more into the same project. The word docs have the same styles applied, though I have changed them in Flare a little, i.e margins and font family etc. So I ...

Re: miniTOC proxy formatting

yeah I could add a margin.

But for those pages where there isnt enough content to fill the page out, it looks so much better when those links, and the coipyright notice sit at the bottom of the page. I know it can be done manually, using the 'css sticky footer' method but I'd like to avoid manual ...

Re: miniTOC proxy formatting

Yeah I have the proxy on a master page, thats why im setting it up really. So it shows up on all my pages.

Its still causing the issue however, If a topics content is too long, it overlaps on the proxy, which is how CSS should work for this, but there must be a way around. Surely I'm not the only ...

Re: Removing styles from the Styles window

Even hiding them doesnt let me get rid of most of the weird span styles, they dont show up in that Options screen in the stylesheet window.

and they aren't in the stylesheet when viewed in the text editor.
Yep - that's why you have to generate them yourself (see my post above)

Where do these styles even come from? are they just default styles that Flare have setup? Seems really strange that they are there, but they cant be deleted, and they seem to not be used at all....
