Re: Removing styles from the Styles window

Even hiding them doesnt let me get rid of most of the weird span styles, they dont show up in that Options screen in the stylesheet window.

and they aren't in the stylesheet when viewed in the text editor. They show up in the Flare stylesheet, but I can't get rid of them.

what are those styles ...

Removing styles from the Styles window

Is it possible to take styles out of the Styles window?

I only want to display my styles, ie. not inherited styles, I cant delete them, which doesnt really bother me yet, but I just dont want them displayed in my Styles window as they just clutter the screen far too much.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Nick

Re: miniTOC proxy formatting

I know you can use positioning to fix it to the bottom of the page, but it would be fixed and not scroll with the topic; i.e. it'd appear over the topic text.

what properties of the proxy would be changed for this? would love something to fix it to the bottom, but all Position properties that I ...

Renaming styles, does it work?

Hi all,
I have a few styles that I would like to rename. I rename the style in the Stylesheet, but when I do this, the style is no longer applied in the topics? This is mainly on my list styles, though I dont see why it would make a difference.

Is it possible to rename a style? seems to me that it ...

Search or find/Replace for styles?

Hi all,

Is there anyway to find a style, or find where a style is used in a project?

I'm just looking over my style sheet, and trying to tidy things up. I can hide the inherited styles, but there are a few left over which I'm guessing means that they are being used somewhere in the topic and I ...

Re: miniTOC proxy formatting

Thanks for that.

A few more things - I can't find how to set a mouse-over colour, and a post-click colour for the links? All that changes so far is the standard colour. I found a few hover style controls, but nothing that affected the miniTOC.

As well, is it possible to fix this to the bottom of ...

I'm trying to set the font size and color for the miniTOC proxy, and it ins't working. So far I can set the font type and thats it. None of the other changes I make to the CSS, font size etc are working.

Search results and using tabs instead of Acordion

Hi all,
Just wondering if theres anyway to change the skin setup so it uses a tabbed approach, rather than the default Acordion?

As well, search results display a rating, and the title of the topic, is there anyway to display part of the text from that topic in the results aswell?

Thanks.

Re: Custom image for tip/note/warning styles

Just a heads up on this,
My main issue was with the image not being imported, and as such not displaying in WebHelp output.

I have found a solution, sort of.

Because the style was imported as a paragraph style from word, and not a list style, the bullet image wasnt displaying. I was able to edit ...

Import word doc to existing project

Hi all,
I have made one project from a single Word doc, I fixed a few style issues etc, now I want to import another Word doc to the same project.

How do I do this? I've looked through the help, I've gone to the Project Organiser, used the existing FLIMP file, tried to add my new doc to this and ...

Great thanks for that guys, was a little puzzled by this one, will sort it out on Monday.

One other thing, while we're talking about OL's, is it possible to change the seperater that is used between the number and the text? By default it is using a . (fullstop) but I would like to use ) for another ...

List style from import vs list style that import has created

Hi all,
This is a bit of a weird one. I have imported text from a word doc. In that, there are numberous list styles, OL and UL lists.

Now, if I look at the content of a topic that I have imported, it appears as expected, I may change the indents a bit etc to get things lining up nicely.

The ...

Custom image for tip/note/warning styles

Hi all,
I'm wondering if its possible to set a custom image for a paragraph style, or if this only works for UL styles?

Reason I ask, I have note, warning, and tip text set in word, with a nice little image next to it, when I import the word doc, this image is dropped. I can try to apply an image ...

Accessing Flare over a network, rather than local install

Hi,
We will be soon setting Flare up in our business.

I'm just wondering if anyone here has setup Flare on a network, so rather than it being installed locally, its installed for that user on the network? Most of our applications run this way, almost nothing is installed locally due to IT policy ...

Re: Importing Lists from Word

Out of curosity, what are your styles set as in Word? Actual list styles? or Paragraph styles with numbering applied? I'm curious as to how Flare differentiates between the 2, and which is reccomended for best results.

I'm looking at importing a load of documentation from Word once Flare is setup ...

Hi all,

Yeah I do have the TOC, but I would hope this would be displayed on the left, so at least I can have that open and work on content rather than opening in the topic pane. I dont know, I was using RoboHelp earlier, and I didnt like it at all, but some of those things I got used to were quite valuable ...
