Re: Help: Word Import is a Mess

Thanks for the info.

Thing is, I'm importing a 400 page document, having to create all the folders etc is a bit of a drag, but if thats how it has to be done then theres not much I can do. I was just hoping for a bit more than Flare creating one folder with a load of topics in it and then I have to ...

Re: Help: Word Import is a Mess

Thanks for that, I found that one after importing everything again.

Problem is, I'm still ending up with all topics in one folder, is there anyway to get the folder structure to be created based on those heading levels.....and if not, I'm creating folders manually, not really ideal, and pulling the ...

Help: Word Import is a Mess

Hi all,
So I just got a trial version of Flare running.
I have my Word doc, about 100 pages, it has all been formatted in Word, using specific styles.

I have imported the doc into Flare, and now, I have about 200+ htm topics sitting in a single folder that are named by sentence beginning etc. The ...

Re: Snippet within a Snippet and other single sourcing questions

Yeah I know word is an absolute pig with lists, but it can be managed with creating different kinds - it isnt pretty, but it does work, sort of.

My concern is that Flare may have some of the lovely 'features' that RoboHelp had with using lists and snippets together and forgetting that list ...

Re: Snippet within a Snippet and other single sourcing questions

Great, thanks very much for the reposnse. Most helpful.
Think I will get a trial running at home this weekend and investigate some of these things a bit further, too much red tape to get things installed at work.

Big shame about setting variables at project level only. Doing it by target is fair ...

Hosting WebeHelp, what do we need to be aware of?

Hi all,
We are currently evaluating H.A.Ts and I'm looking at Flare as well as 2 other products. Its the first time we are implementing them at my new job, so there is no existing webserver dedicated to hosting.
Because of this I'm trying to get a webserver setup, of course the engineers have some ...

Snippet within a Snippet and other single sourcing questions

Hi all,
I'm currently evaluating tech. authoring tools and MadCap is in the short list for our company. I have used a few other tools previously, however never Flare. So theres a couple questions that I have about the 'true single sourcing' that Flare has.

1. Can you embed a snippet within a ...
