Re: Organise Flare's stylesheet? It is such a mess

haha maybe so, but at least within the same medium declaration would be nice....I doubt it'll ever happen anyway.

Re: Organise Flare's stylesheet? It is such a mess

Yeah I didn't think it was likely but was hoping someone might have a work around. Just so annoying, makes it so messy, and styles in a medium that are using default settings are declared but have nothing applied - pointless?

I'll log a request with them too...

Thanks,

Organise Flare's stylesheet? It is such a mess

hi all,
I'm doing a bit of stylesheet work with new mediums etc and have had to look at the stylesheet itself both in Flare (i.e. code view) and after my webhelp is built.
I must say, the structure of the CSS file is a mess. from what I can tell the newest modified style is thrown at the bottom and ...

Re: Move the WebHelp logo from the right corner to the Left?

aaahhhh bloody IE cache was messing me up.

I think the class option is better for me, users want to be able to resize if need be. So the logo does show, next thing...if you use acordian titles, the width is dynamic, as in resizing the TOC, search etc moves those top buttons with it, need to see if ...

Re: Move the WebHelp logo from the right corner to the Left?

Thanks for the ideas guys, it seems like I'm close but not quite.

smkelchner,
Setting the logo as a background image only works if the width is specific right? i.e. 800px or something. I used a single logo but the image just repeats all the way across the toolbar background, which is what I ...

breadcrumb proxy cant change font size

hi all,
Not sure if I'm suffering from lack of sleep but I can not for the life of me change the breadcrumb proxy font size.
I've set my stylesheet set as follows:

MadCap|breadcrumbsProxy
{
font-size: 7pt;
mc-breadcrumbs-count: 7;
}

I have set this before but want to change it. Is this set in ...

Not in Flare.
You can use 3rd party tools to set keyboard shortcuts I think, but I haven't done it before.

Re: Include downloadable PDF link in WebHelp TOC or Topic

Put the PDF in to a folder in Content Explorer in your project, drag & drop the file into your topic to get it linking, configure the link as you want.

Re: Snippetblock in ol li items numbered at the last line

I've noticed this before, in the output it doesnt appear - WebHelp or PDF.

However, it depends if you use snippetBlock or snippetText, I seem to remember if I used snippetBlock it showed up in the output as it does in the example you have shown.

Re: Help won't open for customer

If you right-click on a TOC item from the help and select Copy Link (IE) or Copy Shortcut (FF I think) and paste that into your browser, it should open that single TOC that should be a good starting point.

Re: What's the single biggest Flare project you've had to manage

The biggest project I build has around 1800 topics, 3000 images and it builds in about 10-15mins. The thing that takes the longest is 5 images that I have have text written in them within capture - processing these takes a minute or so each which really slows it down. But other than that its pretty ...

Re: Putting a left border on <html> to stretch the entire topic

SOLVED.
2 steps to get this sorted.

First, the removal of all frameborder and border settings in the index.htm and index_left.htm as LTinker has posted above.
Then, set min-height in the <html> tag to 100% and <height> in the body tag to 100%. The border-left attribute is then applied to the body ...

Re: Putting a left border on <html> to stretch the entire topic

Yeah this is what I did initially, but the fact it doesnt work in FF is a total issue for us - I'm not sure about chrome or safari (dont have them to test). Our platform is multi-browser compatiable and to have the help not work or appear in FF the same it does in IE isn't nice.

I found a few posts ...

Re: Spacing after Headings

You are using different units.
Use the same units to keep things consistent. either em's or pixels. That space after H2 looks like about .75 pixels, I dont even think you can do a .75 pixel line can you? doesn't it just round up to 1px? I may be mistaken but either way...

Re: Putting a left border on <html> to stretch the entire topic

Yep tried that, but it wont extend down the page when I open drop-down hotspots. Tried html, body and both together.
still no joy.

There must be a way to fudge this.

Re: Putting a left border on <html> to stretch the entire topic

So far I can remove the frame border by editing the index.htm (or whatever name you give it) after building my output. I 'can' set a border in this frame tag in the htm file, but it doesnt show in FF, only IE. Not ideal at all.
Setting the border at the topic, using either <html> or <body> tags ...

Re: Putting a left border on <html> to stretch the entire topic

From what I can tell, that border is set using the frameborder tag, which in IE is either on or off. Doesn't seem to let you set a pixel width from what I can see in the htm page after its built. This is why I need to try and use a border instead.

Putting a left border on <html> to stretch the entire topic

Hi all,
Think this is more of a styles issue than a webhelp skin issue.
The topic divider in WebHelp is annoying me, the frameborder is ugly and I dont want it. Instead I want a 1px line to seperate my topic pane from the toc etc.
I added a left border to the <html> tag and it almost works. But for ...

Re: Page layout with single and double columns?

Hi Cathy,
Unfortunately not. I ended up using a double column layou for the entire page. I think tables are your best bet.
I'm not sure if MadCap made any headway with this one in recent releases. I haven't checked.

Good luck !
Nick.

Move the WebHelp logo from the right corner to the Left?

Hi all,
Our design guys are going through a version of my Help and want to move some stuff.
Is it possible to move the logo from the right to the left? Or even possible to remove acordian titles and replace them with a logo image? We NEED the logo on the left and ideally the acordian labels would ...
