Hi all,
Does anyone know how to do the following:
1. We create web-based output (HTML5)
2. Marketing wants to be able to include a company logo (or even a watermark in the middle of the page, light enough that it can be seen under the text) at the top of the printed output as well as a copyright ...

Re: Has anyone migrated to the Git integration?
Adding more to this. So from Madcap support, this is what I've learned so far about their git integration:
* It's very basic - straight from the tech support folks at Madcap
* it doesn't support branching unless you make a branch outside of flare and then get the master with the branches, which ...

Re: How do I count all the links in my project?
So I remember interviewing many years ago at a company that has its own financial news network whose namesake was the mayor of NYC for a while. Do you know how they count if a tech writer is doing is job? By daily page counts. You are expected to produce X number of pages per day. I scratched my ...

Re: How do I count all the links in my project?
When you have to report on metrics, all companies are different. What you may consider "not important" to your needs is not what all companies consider important to theirs. There are in fact many uses for knowing how many links there are in a project, both by type as well as overall number.

Re: How do I count all the links in my project?
Why would I be offended at your opinion?
Have you seen some of the reports that Flare can produce? They're very in-depth. So, if the software can report on those types of issues within a project, giving me a report that allows me to choose what type of links I'd like to know about doesn't seem all ...

I still have to ask, why doesn't the software have a basic "links" count with all the parameters mentioned by Dave here? Why has the software gotten SO complicated that the basics are missing?

Re: How do I count all the links in my project?
Flare is a Windows application. I run Linux at home. Not sure that I can run Windows-reliant apps (perhaps using Wine or some other emulator) but your method implies that I'm running Linux on my Windows machine.

How do I count all the links in my project?
I'm trying to find a report, method, any way through the Flare app to generate a number of how many links there are in my project. I just need a number such as "there are NN of links in the project". I've looked in the reports, I have looked in the help and there's nothing for "counting links ...

I used a popup weblink in the master page separated by a rule between the footer content and the topic body.

Re: Status of bugs/feature requests submitted?
Sorry, that's just a plain unintuitive way which puts the onus on the customer to play follow-up for something that is broken in the software and should be fixed and handled by the company who created the software. There needs to be a better focus on the customer by Madcap. We spend a lot of time ...

Re: HTML5 Search Field Auto Complete
I love your approach. Only downside to this is my UXD guys opted for left nav. I wanted top-nav, showed them top-nav and they liked left nav. So, I am stuck with left nav but can't move the top-nav search box.

Re: Has anyone migrated to the Git integration?
Oh, Nita, you smartie, I wish I had your luck. Truly, after 2.5 months of struggling with trying to figure out why Flare cannot seem to authenticate into git to bind, update, get, or otherwise branch anything between itself and git, I finally gave up. My IT folks just simply scratched their heads at ...

Displaying outside content in a topic?
I've got a JIRA service desk that clients use to submit tickets and search knowledgebase articles. I've been asked if I can include this page in one of the help topics? Not as a simple link that will show the JIRA Service Portal in a separate window, but one that shows the service portal inside of a ...

Re: Has anyone migrated to the Git integration?
I tried. Boy, did I try. I finally gave up. I do not see how git and Flare can work together? I have YET to get past the authentication aspect of getting to my project. I can use anything else such as Git's web browsing tool, I can use almost anything else to see my git repository, but Flare cannot ...

Re: HTML5 Search Field Auto Complete
I asked about this. I also asked Madcap Support. This is "not supported" which baffles me because this aren't even live pages. These are static pages. When I found out that this wasn't possible, I was just simply floored at how unintuitive this non-functionality is. Anywhere a user goes on the web ...

Adding an alphabetical lookup for glossary proxy output
I'm inserting a glossary proxy in a blank topic in my output so that I can have a separate glossary that is not linked to the topics. However, how do I generate a letter listing so the user can click on a letter and be taken to the beginning of that glossary letter?
For example. I want to create a ...

I'm trying to include, on a topic, a fill-in form so that users can submit feedback. Re: Is there a CSS Reference for MainStyles.css?
@Dave,
That's exactly the point, I have to meet certain UXD requirements for styles and colors and formatting of a lot of UI elements in my output. Trying to figure out what style of madcap.XXX is what is driving me nuts and taking forever. There has to be a way to figure out what is what.

Is there a CSS Reference for MainStyles.css?
I'm going crazy trying to figure out the MainStyles.css file. Nothing is as it appears. The only way I'm figuring out what is what is by creating output and looking at the code through Developer Tools in Chrome.
There HAS to be a Mainstyles.css reference somewhere. Please tell me there is?

Re: Is there a guide to editing custom skins to create my ow
Thanks Dave, I spent about an hour with the Flare customer support rep and he helped me create a master page that could be applied to all my topics. The downside, since it's not a skin, it isn't responsive. In the end, I ended up going back to the tripane left-TOC skin and altering the base styles ...

Re: Is there a guide to editing custom skins to create my ow
Follow-up question. I'm trying the "no skins" approach and in my HomePage.flmsp, this is what I have to try to recreate some navigational elements as per the UXD requirements (from top to bottom, I have included):
