Re: Is there a guide to editing custom skins to create my ow

Thanks Dave,

is there any way to move the search bar into the topic in the sidenav tripane view? I can't use the search bar proxy, fair enough, are there any other options?

Re: Is there a guide to editing custom skins to create my ow

@Dave Lee:

The searchproxy is rejected in the leftnav skin. I tried to insert it into the home page master page and it is rejected by the compiler with the following error message:

ID: 70007 - The search bar proxy is not supported for HTML5 Tripane output and will be removed

I had chosen the top ...

Is there a guide to editing custom skins to create my own?

I'd like to take a custom skin that comes with Flare and do some customizations of my own:

move the search bar into the topic window from above the topic window
support typeahead in search

How do I customize the custom skin not just change colors and such, but is there a guide that talks about ...

Re: Has anyone migrated to the Git integration?

If anyone can offer better documentation than what is in the product, I'd really appreciate it.

I am getting authentication issues with Flare and Git. I can get into my Git repository directly, can see files, do what I want, but using the same credentials causes Flare to tell me that it couldn't ...

Are there any HTML5 skins without search or navigation

Yes, I know, it sounds weird. However, I've been getting a request from one group in my company that is asking can I deliver help with just topics? They don't want any top navigation (I am using the HTML5 Top Navigation skin) and no TOC. I know I can take care of that part by just not including a ...

Re: Flare glossary for terminology management?

In the 4 years since this topic was last answered, the glossary functionality of Flare is still VERY POOR. Has anyone come up with any workarounds for the following:

lists in glossary terms
formatting glossary terms (including line breaks)
showing a glossary term with a link that works at the ...

You try this with the git@ and instead just entering the repository name? Don't you already have to enter your credentials when you create the link?

Have you looked through this topic in flare help?

Re: inserting code blocks into a topic

Now, I'm REALLY confused...

I pressed the enter key for about 3 lines, formatted them as <pre> copied and pasted the code and everything was left justified. The code is only 3 lines long but I'm testing this as a first pass. If this won't work, then I don't know how to do this for code samples that ...

Re: inserting code blocks into a topic

Hi,

Thank you for the detailed instructions. Just a question for clarification...

When you say "insert a block" what do you mean exactly? Are you saying insert a text box and format that with the <pre> tag? I did that and copied the code in and the text was all left-aligned.

Thank you in advance.

inserting code blocks into a topic

Hi,

i can't be the first one to come across this need. I need to insert a LOT of code blocks that show off javascript in our application as sample code. However, I can't figure out for the life of me how to format and retain the formatting of the sample code IN a topic.

I tried a text box and ...

Re: Is there a way to use a book title as a variable?

I put in a support ticket for this and was told it's a "feature request". I got around this by creating 4 different master pages with the name of each product in the footer.

I tried your approach of "overriding the variable in the target" and it only took me to the main variable list for ALL ...

Re: Is there a way to use a book title as a variable?

Thank you, Margaret.

I'm just trying to understand this:

I've got to name the output as per the book name within the ...

Is there a way to use a book title as a variable?

I have a single project that covers 4 different products.

My requirements are:

Create 4 web outputs from this single project
Each web output must inherit the name of the "book" or "project" in the master page layout that shows up at the bottom of each topic.

So, 1 project ---> 4 HTML web outputs ...

I use nested drop-downs in WebHelp (often three of four levels), and I'm happy with the results. My overall requirements aren't that complex, though. All mine are closed initially and I don't think I've done anything specific to ensure that.

There are a couple of issues with getting them to expand ...
