Re: "...key not present in dictionary" error

I am also seeing this error. The only new twist from what everyone else has posted is that the topic causing the problem is used by multiple targets but only one target gets the error. The other targets complete the build and output to Word just fine.

Re: Table sizing in print

Thanks for your reply. I selected Autofit to Window and entered 6 in and then clicked OK. But for some reason the setting does not stay. When I reopen the table properties, the 6 inches is still in the Autofit to Window selection but Fixed Column Width is selected, not Autofit. I changed the first c...

Table sizing in print

I am completely mystified by the appearence of tables as they are output into Word. Here's what I want. A simple 2 column table where the first column is 1.25 inches and the second column is 4.75 inches. No matter what I try an set in Flare, the table resizes to the content when I publish to Word. Y...

Thanks for your responses. I'm running Flare locally. I'll check into allowing the VPN to connect to register.madcapsoftware.

MadCap Not responding over VPN

I'm working from home and need to VPN in to access the network. This does tend to slow things down a bit but I'm able to access everything I need except MapCap. I can open a project, sort of. The explorer displays but not the text editor. And then MadCap stops responding. I don't any error message, ...

Re: Multiple page numbers in print

That's it! The other even page number was in the middle of the odd page number code. Don't ask me why.
Thanks to everyone for their help.

Re: Multiple page numbers in print

Sorry about not reply sooner. Got way-laid in meetings yesterday. Here's the code. I was able to get rid of one of the extra numbers but I'm not sure what else to take out. Thanks for all your help. I wouldn't be this far along without you. <MadCap:pageFooter class="EvenPage"> <table style...

Re: Multiple page numbers in print

Yes all my master pages are in the Content Explorer>Resources>Master pages folder.
I've attached screen shots of my master page. A good page footer and a bad page footer.

Re: Multiple page numbers in print

Good suggestion but unfortunately, none of my other master pages show a dependency on this target or TOC. So I don't know where the page numbers are coming from.

Thanks,

Multiple page numbers in print

I'm having a quirky problem when I generate my print document. The even number page numbers, show up 3 times. The odd page numbers appear only once as they should. It looks like there may be another master page attached somehow but I don't see where. There is no master page defined in the target, on...

Re: Output doesn't match style sheet

Thanks Kevin and Lisa. I verified that the target has the medium set to default, regenerated, and still my output does not match my style sheet for the default medium. It still matches the print medium. I then created a new medium and that did the trick. My output reflects whatever medium I set the ...

Output doesn't match style sheet

I am using Flare for single sourcing our docs. I have one project where I need to produce 2 different manuals for different audiences, many of the topics are shared but not all. Both targets output to Word. One of the manuals we convert to PDF and use an Arial font, the other manual is delivered in ...

Missing text and graphics

I imported a rather large Word (docx) document into Flare and as I'm reviewing the result, I realized that some graphics did not import and also some text is missing from topics. I've also noticed a couple of topics that did not import either. I'm not seeing any pattern. Within a topic, I'll have so...

How do I create a cross-reference to a numbered step?

I'm new to Flare and still learning my way around. Here's my question of the day. I have a numbered list and I want one of the steps to be "Repeat steps x - y", where x and y refer to previous steps in the procedure. I want to make x and y a cross-reference to the numbered steps so that wh...
