Re: Output a single properly formatted HTML page?
I too would love a single-file HTML output, because it could be managed as a node / resource by CMS systems, but still open natively in the browser, instead of a PDF plugin. My use case is publishing to Drupal - I need to use Drupal content management (serving only particular files to users based on...

Re: Flare 9 HTML5 and TocPath in page links
It's the same code again: if(L!=null&&O){var T=y(W,true);L+=encodeURIComponent("?"+O+"Path="+T)} Change it to this: /*if(L!=null&&O){var T=y(W,true);L+=encodeURIComponent("?"+O+"Path="+T)}*/ This time the file is in Program Files, not Program F...

Re: Flare 12: still no SharePoint 365 integration
I did, yes. I need to move to SharePoint as our native content platform for collaboration, we use it for all internal docs now already. I was hoping to use Flare to create & edit SharePoint wiki files at my end, but the lack of SharePoint integration with Flare will probably mean that I have to ...

Flare 12: still no SharePoint 365 integration
Has anyone had any luck with manual SharePoint online / Office 365 integration?
I was hoping integration would be provided in Flare 12, but I can't see anything in the release notes.

Re: No publish progress bar as of new update (Aug 3 2015)
Bump - I have this issue too. No indication that the publish is actually running other than 'Running' in the status column. And no indication when it has completed. When I stop the build manually, my FTP site shows the new files are there. I have to guess when it's finished though. This is definitel...

For Flare 11, delete this code:
from MadCapAll.js

C:\Program Files (x86)\MadCap Software\MadCap Flare V11\Flare.app\Resources\WebHelp2\Desktop\Scripts
Code: Select all
;L+=encodeURIComponent("?"+O+"Path="+T)

Flare v11 HTML5 Tocpath suppression
To remove the tocpath from topic files, it looks like the code to remove from MadCapAll.js for Flare v11 is: ;L+=encodeURIComponent("?"+O+"Path="+T) So it's the same as the v10 code, but everything's just been incremented by a few letters. Please try for yourself to confirm, seem...

Re: Flare v10 - Inconsistencies with HTML / PDF outputs
Not sure it's relevant, but there's a new general option in v10, 'Automatically resize low DPI images' - I had to switch that off to get my icons displaying properly in PDF.

Re: Flare 9 HTML5 and TocPath in page links
I find that very annoying as well. I post a lot of URLs in other documentation (e.g. our website) & I don't want to have to delete the TocPath string every time I post one. The extra string obfuscates the URL and means that users are unable to quickly see from the URL where the topic sits in the...

Re: HTML5 skin: insert variable for project-level customization?
Update if anyone else is having trouble getting this working. 1) The ins css in sivatar's comment below: background-image: url("../skin/logo.png"); does pull the logo into your output if your output is set to 'exclude content not linked directly...' but it doesn't pull the skin.htm file in...

Re: HTML5 skin: insert variable for project-level customization?
Bumping.
Does anyone else have a solution for this, or alternatively can anyone see why the solution above might not work?
apparently I'm not the only one it doesn't work for (although the strategy & code looks fine to me).
cheers

Re: HTML5 skin: insert variable for project-level customization?
You will need the logo, the script expects it to be there. So I need to have a logo specified in the Styles tab of the skin editor? I would imagine I can use anything there because it will be overridden anyway by the code set in the Toolbar tab? Whether I specify a logo there or not, it still doesn...

Re: How to use the indexing for web-based output?
I'm not sure about the following: 2. Opened up the Auto-index and generated a 'new auto index set'. 3. Added in a few search phrases. "document", "Gauge" etc. All I do is select a word in the topic editor, and hit F10. This adds a new index keyword, which you can view & edit ...

Re: HTML5 skin: insert variable for project-level customization?
Thanks for that - looks like it should work (obviously, if it works for you) but it isn't, I'm getting nothing at all. Are there any other requirements for this to work? I've tried switching off the logo in skin > styles > logo, but that didn't help. When the original skin logo was there, it (the or...

HTML5 skin: insert variable for project-level customization?
Has anyone come up with an easy way to modify skin appearance or content at a project level? I have an HTML5 skin that is shared by multiple projects, and is imported from my 'master project' at build. However, I'd like to change the skin (either by way of an image, or text in the header) for each p...

Re: Add external link to logo in HTML5 output
Bump... I too would like to know how to point the html5 skin logo hyperlink to somewhere other than 'home.htm'. The logo was an important navigation element in my previous webhelp output. Alternatively, if someone knows how to add additional (hyperlinked) logos to the html5 skin, any tips much appre...

Related Topics popup: can't change popup styles
I'm trying to change the colours for the related topics popup from the rather unpleasant colours that it has by default. I've tried editing the colours in MadCap|popupBody. Didn't do anything. I've also tried creating the following in my stylesheet, from various website suggestions: div.MCKLinkBody ...

'Embed' topic content from another help system
I've got a master (webhelp) project containing a topic which is a list of documentation links, which gets updated quite often. I've also got a few webhelp child projects, which include the same topic. Currently I update the documentation links topic in the master project, publish it, then publish th...

Customizing skin for each target
Does anyone know if it's possible to customize a skin on a per-target basis? I have 1 global skin and maybe 10 projects that share the skin. The skin lives in a master project and is imported into the child projects. I'd like to include the project title somewhere in the skin, ideally in the toolbar...

Search multiple projects using a 3rd-party search engine
I publish quite a few projects (10 currently), which are related, but not always closely. I would like users to be able to search across all projects, but I don't want to publish them all in the same place (under a 'master' project), because I think it would confuse navigation, plus the index would ...

Re: Launching help via javascript from external domain
Great, that worked, thanks again. However: the skin allows the specification of browser settings (toolbar, menu bar etc.). In order for these to take effect, the help must be launched via javascript. But FMCOpenHelp does not include syntax for opening the help in a new window, as far as I can see. S...
