Re: Footnote text color
Basically: create 2 span classes, one that specifies the colour of the number in the text (table) and one for the colour of the number in the footnote block. Or, you should be able to use a complex selector. So your base footnote style has the color as black, but when it's inside a table header cel...

Re: Cross referencing external files
You could try inserting an embed tag -- see http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_embed.asp for more info. You can't do that via Flare's GUI, but you can manually enter it in the page code. Just make sure whatever source content you're embedding is somewhat secured; you wouldn't want to pull in somethin...

Re: Error- "Object reference not set to an instance of an object
No, unfortunately, that's a pretty generic error. Todd might have gotten it in relation to cloud services, but if you do a search on that phrase in this forum then you'll find all sorts of posts where people got that error when trying all sorts of things. Margaret, by "compiling a master projec...

Re: How to get auto chapter numbers in TOC
I added an mc-auto-number-format, "Chapter {chapnum}:" to the chapter-level TOC paragraph style in the CSS, (p.TOC2). I checked that it's in the print medium. The autonumber is ignored when I generate the PDF, though other changes that I made to the style appear. If you use the {chapnum} ...

Re: CSS Messages
Welcome to the forums. I would open the topic in the Internal Text Editor or turn on the split code/design view and look at the code-behind in the topic. See if there is an inline style somewhere in that heading tag (either within the h1 tag itself or a span tag) that has the line-height attribute s...

Re: TOC editor will not stay put
TOC on left, topics on right. I'm not seeing the behavior you're seeing. I'm able to do what you want to do with Flare. Maybe it's a version capability; what version of Flare are you running? If I set the TOC Editor's toggle option so that double-clicking a TOC entry opens the topic and not the TOC...

Re: Crossreference displays complete topic, not just heading
The only thing I can think of is if the closing heading tag isn't after the heading text but is further down in the topic (in the destination topic). However, I would expect opening that destination topic to give you an error that the code isn't formatted correctly. Unless heading tags are considere...

If you'd like real-world examples, you can try the following: Flare v10 Online Help -> http://webhelp.madcapsoftware.com/flare10/Default.htm MadCap Knowledge Base -> http://kb.madcapsoftware.com/ If you compare them side-by-side, you'll see how they differ somewhat in scope, categories of topics, to...

Re: MiniTOC not working
That's how I thought it worked, too. The only way I could see it working in this case is if the "Use TOC depth..." option is enabled, which would somewhat limit the number of h1 tags in the resulting output. I would still expect it to list all the h1s in the output, though, not those just ...

Re: paragraph alignment issue
First, if you need to show alignment of something in this forum, put it inside a Code block. Won't be pretty, but it retains extra spaces. Second, if a style displays correctly in one medium but not the other, than odds are that you defined an attribute in the print medium, in this case, but not the...

Re: Question about color
And to me, an underscore is its own keyboard character which can be_used_to_combine_words, especially for file names. I would have been more apt to call it an underline, which is another CSS attribute and which is a tag in HTML, although the tag is deprecated and you're supposed to use a bottom bord...

In the PDF target. Although I can't remember if there's an option available other than footnotes for print output. You'll have to check (I don't have Flare open at the moment).

Re: Question about underscoring
Check your target and see if you have "Use TOC depth to set heading levels" or however the feature is worded. If you have that enabled, then a topic that's a child of another topic is automatically changed from an h1 to an h2 in the output. A topic that's two levels deep (grandchild) is ch...

If you don't want borders on any images, whether or not they're hyperlinked, then I believe you just need to set the border property to none on the base img tag.

Re: How to open in XML Editor from Find in Files
Does it always do that, or is it dependent on whether or not you have "find in source code" enabled when you search? I almost always have that checked because I am looking for something in the code, so I do want it to open the topic to that code. If you don't have "find in source code...

It would be in the h1 tag in the print medium. If you don't see it there, then you might have to set the text-decoration attribute to none.

Re: removing thumbnail border
The default behavior (in HTML, not Flare) for hyperlinked images is to have a border, unless you expressly tell it to not have a border. So you'll need to set the border value to 0 for the thumbnail image style in the Stylesheet Editor.

Then I apply the 1 column page layout back to the topic "Module name here". But it does not apply! If you look in the code you copied into the post, you'll see that the last TOC entry is missing the BreakType and PageLayout lines. That's why that TOC is still showing the previous layout -...

At this point, I'd make a copy of my stylesheet and save it outside the project. You also need to modify the DIV that contains the mini-TOC. Here are the styles I have in my stylesheet related to the mini-TOC. I'm including a couple for each, one that results in "In this section" preceding the entries, and one that says "In this section: How do I...". I also ...
