Re: Border on Headings
Thanks for your help. Ideally, I wanted space between the left border and the heading text.

Border on Headings
I have applied a border to my Heading 3 style. I would like the text to have some space between the border and the text. I have attached a screenshot. What element do I need to adjust on the CSS? I tried a couple of things but I have yet to fix it.

Expending Element wants me to suffer
Expending Element. I like it, I like it a lot. But I can't seem to change the format of it at all. Right now, it's the MadCap standard, but since I am using it for bulleted lists, I would prefer it to be in smaller font and less space between lines (I know there's a technical term for that, but it's...

Re: Rename Navigation Tabs and add Icon
I don't have those options that show up on the topic displayed in MadCap Help-- going to Navigation Panel gives me one property-- "Position." Also, I can't seem to add a class on any element of the skin, either from the Styles or UI Text window. The Help makes it seem like I should be able...

Rename Navigation Tabs and add Icon
I am using an HTML5 skin and would like to know how I can rename the navigation tabs and add icons, similar to the Madcap web help. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: My Content Explorer - GONE!
Okay, I tried "Reset," and finally, that worked. THank you again for your help, I wouldn't have had the idea to do that if it wasn't for your initial advice.

Re: My Content Explorer - GONE!
I don't see a "Reload" option on the Windows ribbon. Under "View" it shows that the Content Explorer is open. When I click it to close it (with the mindset that I can just reopen it), the entire toolbar becomes dysfunctional. I can't do anything. I have tried installing and re-in...

PDFs won't go away
I am using an HTML 5 target. I have hyperlinks in my web help that link to pdfs that are contained within the project. Using IE, In the output, when I click on these links, the pdf opens in the same frame--which is what I want. But when I try to navigate to a link on the left pane, the pdf remains. ...

My Content Explorer - GONE!
So, I was working on Mad Cap today (V8), when all of a sudden, my Content Explorer window just disappeared. I went to view and re-clicked it, and it won't open now. It appears enabled to open, but when I click it, nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Re: Change Hover Color on TOC
I am attaching a screen shot of what I mean. Your last instruction allowed me to highlight the topic that I am in as orange (which is something else I wanted), but right now I am hovering over the topic that is red. And I don't want red. I want to use a different color.

Re: Change Hover Color on TOC
Okay, thank you for that, because it fixed something I also wanted to change, which is the highlight of the item after it has been selected. But the red continues to appear when I am hovering over the options. I need to change that color too.

So your link really worked. For awhile. Then I downloaded the latest release, and it doesn't work anymore. Is there another technique?

Hyperlink Will Not Let Me Link to Pdf
I am creating web help and want to link to a pdf that I have published within the Content. The pdf is there; I can see it. But when I go create a hyperlink, and it offers the files from which to choose, it does not show the pdf. Wierd, because I have not had a problem in the past. Does anyone know w...

Page After Title Displays page Number
No matter what I do, I cannot keep the copyright page from showing up on the Copyright page in my pdf. The Copyright page is after the Title page. I have assigned it as empty. When I look at Page Layouts, there is no frame for page numbers. And yet, MadCap likes to put a page number on there anyway....

Re: Create Chapter Heading with Two Separate Styles
It could be that I am a complete idiot, and you can't do any of this, and that is why I am failing. So what I really want to know is how MadCap was able to do it on their documentation, because that is what I am trying to emulate....unsuccessfully

Installing Flare to A New Server
I need to install Flare to a new server. I only have one license. I don't intend on using Flare in two places. I have already downloaded the Trial version, now I just need to unlock it and remove the other Flare from the other server. Does anyone know where I can find information on how to do this?

Re: Create Chapter Heading with Two Separate Styles
So, for my autonumbering, I wanted to apply this style: MadCap|variable.heading1chapter { text-transform: uppercase; font-size: 30pt; font-family: 'Arial Rounded MT Bold'; color: #00467f; } And for the heading itself, it looks like this: h1 { color: #7E8083; font-size: 24pt; font-family: Arial; font...

Re: Create Chapter Heading with Two Separate Styles
Yes, I applied a span style on the automated chapter numbers, and in the pdf, in the TOC panel, the <span> signifiers appear instead of the Chapter number. So annoying! I thought I had it made in the shade. It looked really good, then I passed it to QA, and of course they put it in as a bug because ...
