Re: Versioning of multiple PDF outputs in one project
Beautifully put, ajturnersurrey, that's how I'd approach it too. And when it comes to managing version numbers, consider using a variable. You can modify a variable for a specific target when necessary, so in the Joe target the version number could be 1.2 and the Bob target could have version number...

Warm welcome to the forums, DroodWrites, and you make a very good point. I doubt you'll get much of a response though, as the most recent post on that thread was five years ago. But welcome anyway!

Re: Product Documentation vs. Training Guides
People who prepare training material are in a completely different team to those who prepare user documentation. In your circumstance, where both teams use Flare, could you use a "globals" project that contains the stuff that both teams need, and then import the project into both teams' Fl...

This might be something to talk to Tech Support about, as it might be a bug. In fact, why not just report it as a bug and see what Tech Support say? Link for reporting bugs is in my signature below.

Might be a silly suggestion, but how about applying the .nobr style to "exit() ", with the space included in your .nobr span?

Re: Pin the footer to the bottom of the page?
Yes, there is. I've done it but I'm blowed if I can work out which bits in my stylesheet did the job! Here are some bits and pieces that may or may not be involved in it, so feel free to have a play with adding and removing these bits and see what happens. (And if you get it to work, please post whi...

Re: Exclude a chapter from autonumbering
Getting back to the question, if I have a selector (style) where most of them are a certain way but there are a couple of exceptions, I make the most common one the default. So in this case my h1 would have a chapter number, but then I'd make h1.NoChapNum that doesn't have a chapter number and only ...

Re: Import overwriting stylesheet?
We only have one main stylesheet which is stored in a separate Flare project that we import into all our normal projects. If you did that, then you'd get your stylesheet back by importing your Globals project again. Just a suggestion.

Re: Need to get rid of thin black line around pop-up graphic
I have a sneaky suspicion that it's to do with accessibility (the same way you get a thicker line around a dropdown arrow in the side menu). I can't remember what I did to play with it, but I don't think it was in the stylesheet. Could it be a skin setting? To find things like this I find it very us...

Perhaps add a feature request? They probably wouldn't have to do anything in the code but could add that information to their help, so shouldn't be too hard for them to do.

Sorry, it was so long ago, and I haven't been working in Central as much as I would have liked, so I simply can't remember! I suggest you contact MadCap Tech Support and see what they say, as I think I got things fixed by talking to them. Good luck.

Re: Topic navigation issues due to multiple TOCs
Not completely sure I've understood what you're saying, but here's what I think you're doing and how you can fix it. If you have ONE topic used in TWO or more places, when you've got a topic open the navigation in your Flare project can't work out which instance of the topic you're looking at so it ...

I suggest you add a generic style, for example ".NotInTOC" with the attribute "mc-heading-level: 0;" and apply that generic style to the headings in the Physical Light and Table of Contents topics.

Where is the DEFAULT value for mc-toc-depth stored?
I've got some projects where the topics have a mini-TOC inserted, and I'm wondering where the DEFAULT value for how many levels the TOC displays is stored, because nowhere in my stylesheet is there a style that includes a definition for mc-toc-depth. I know I could edit my stylesheet to include &quo...

Re: Multiple skins (HTML5 Tripane): change CSS?
Don't know about the first one, but you can definitely add a toolbar with assorted buttons, such as Remove highlight, Next topic, etc, in SideNav. I think you do it in the target by using a Topic toolbar, but I'm not looking at Flare right now so the location of it could be wrong. Wait until someone...

Re: Avoid page break after headings
If you can share the code for that section (the heading followed by the image) we might be able to help. A few questions for you: 1. Is the image just too big (long) to fit on the page with the heading as well? If you temporarily make the image smaller, does the topic work as you want it to? 2. Do y...

Re: Bookmark issues - blank " " and no periods
For the x-ref problem, make sure the full stop is OUTSIDE the x-ref tags, as whatever is inside the tags is regenerated when you generate the output. So it should look like this: For details see <MadCap:xref href="Options_Formula_Options.html">Formula Options</MadCap:xref> . and NOT like t...

Not quite what I was after, as I know I can open the graphic to look at it but that's an extra step I would have preferred not to have to do every time. I'll have to just live with it, I suppose.

Graphics to show full size if target uses thumbnails
Afternoon, Flare hive mind. My target uses thumbnails for graphics and it looks great in the output as users can click if they need to see the graphic in greater detail, but when I'm editing a topic, I want to see the graphic full size. Is there some simple switch that I need to set in the editor so...
