Re: Bad character spacing in PDF
Anyone have any luck resolving this issue? I have been struggling with exactly the same problem in Flare 4 for direct to PDF output. I'm using Times New Roman and Arial (purely out of desperation) and the character spacing in the PDF output is ugly as all get-out. I've spent hours and hours (which m...

Re: Type 1 font support?
I've got a number of Type 1 fonts installed in the Windows Fonts folder on my XP laptop and my Vista desktop computer. Word can find them, PowerPoint can find them. Capture can't find them, and I just confirmed that Flare can't either. So is this a bug, or am I not understanding something, or does C...

Type 1 font support?
Forgive me if I am about to ask a naive question... So I'm taking a serious look at (finally) using Capture for screen images with callouts. For one client, I write user manuals that are printed on an honest-to-goodness-printing-press and shipped with the shrink-wrapped software. For branding purpos...

Thanks very much. I had neglected to say that I had read the topic you've pointed me to, but nonetheless it's reassuring that I am understanding things correctly.

CSH for WebHelp; are links to IDs not URLs supported?
Hi all, This is a rather "newbie-ish" question, but here goes. First, the setup: I have a client that wishes to create a new HTML Help system (not WebHelp) for a pre-release version of their app; we'll be using Flare. The programmers are accustomed to linking a .chm by map IDs. (Forgive my...

Re: Camtasia movies in a Flare project
Mucho thanks, Ramon! Obviously, I'd have a lot to learn in order to actually make this all happen. But between you and Kevin, I think I've got enough info to at least peak (peek? pique?... duh, I've got a case of brain freeze) my client's interest in using Flare for Help and print doc content develo...

Re: Camtasia movies in a Flare project
Thanks, Kevin, for the speedy reply (as usual!). I don't know a thing about how to use Camtasia myself, and I wouldn't expect to do any of the development of movies myself. The client already has the library of movies, and I just want to feel confident that they could somehow be married with Help sy...

Camtasia movies in a Flare project
Morning, all... I have a client that makes a range of software-controlled hardware products, all of which share much functionality, but each of which has unique features. The product line requires documentation for a range of audiences from "guys with wrenches" to system integrators to ent...
