As an FYI I just completed a 3000 pages set of docs in Flare in Simplified Chinese and when compiling for PDF we run into an interesting issue. When double-byte brackets are followed by a double-byte space, it will corrupt the output PDF. The workaround is to change all brackets from double-byte to single-byte in the HTML files required for PDF output and then it works fine. In this manner, the translation can remain correct in the TM. This was confirmed by MadCap support as an issue for Simplified Chinese.

Is this issue still present? We will be translating our documentation in the coming months.

Martin,
the answer is yes. Its also present in Flare 12. Therefore, add some extra time for compiling since this change is best done once the localized project is ready to be compiled with Flare.
