Hide heading levels from printed TOC but show in Mini TOC

Hi,

I'm relatively new to Flare and am having issues getting my PDF Printed TOC to work the way I would like.

I am preparing a training manual that contains a number of Chapters.

At the start of each Chapter, I am using a miniTOC proxy that I want to include the topics and sub-topic levels for that chapter.

However for my overall manual TOC, I only want to show the Chapters and Topics - not the sub-topics. Is this possible in Flare?

If I set mc-heading-level to 0 on h3 to exclude them from the TOC, they don't appear in my MiniTOC, even though I have set my miniTOC to a TOC level of 3.

My outline TOC looks like:

• Title
  TOC
  Module 1 (Chapter title page: contains H1 and miniTOC proxy)
  • Module topic 1
    • Module sub-topic 1
      ...
      Module sub-topic n
    Module topic 2
    • Module sub-topic 1
      ....
      Module sub-topic n
  Module 2
  • Module topic 1
    • Module sub-topic 1
      ...
      Module sub-topic n
    Module topic 2
    • Module sub-topic 1
      ....
      Module sub-topic n
  ...
  etc

Someone else can correct me if things have changed recently, but I'm pretty sure this is not currently possible in Flare. I talked to support about this a little over a year ago, and they had me submit a feature request.

I'd recommend you do the same, because this is something I'd really love to see in Flare! https://www.madcapsoftware.com/feedback ... quest.aspx

Thanks for that - I suspected it must be the way Flare works - I will submit a request as it would be a useful feature.

Casey, I think you are correct: Flare does not support the requirement as stated by Carol. I've been looking into this also, and I can see no reasonable way to do it. We have the same requirement, and will also put in a feature request.
