Hi,
Is there any way to bulk edit a target setting, for example Preserve tracked changes?
We track changes in our documents and would like to include them when providing documents for review, but exclude them when releasing/publishing. However, to do this we would have to manually enable/disable Preserve track changes in over 160 targets. Is there a way to bulk configure this?
Thanks,
Lisa

Re: Bulk edit target settings?
Because targets are text files you can use something like FAR to do a search and replace on all of your *.fltar files. As long as you know what the option is called in the fltar, you can search for it. I'm currently in the process of doing just that with 50+ targets!
Usual warning - make a backup of all your files before you do it (or make sure you've checked them into your source control) so you can back out of any changes if they get messed up.

Re: Bulk edit target settings?
Thank you! I didn't realize targets were text files and it was that easy to do a find and replace of the settings. I just used it to disable Preserve tracked changes on my PDF targets and it worked great.
Thanks again!
