Get error 10086 when trying to build Word target

I am using MadCap Flare 2017 r3. When I try to build my project to a Word target, I get the following error: "10086: Build failed: startindex cannot be larger than length of string. Parameter name: startindex." The output file name that it shows is very long-- C:\Users\myname\Documents\foldername\foldername\Output\myname\Word Target\Output\Word Target\Project\Targets\Word Target.fltar. I know this can't be right, but I can't figure out why it's building this long string. I would be very grateful for any advice--I am (of course) on deadline!
