Hi,
I have been asked is there is a way to "suppress" the printing of the chapter numbers for my auto numbered h1 styles, but still keep the auto numbering for h2, h3 etc to follow the h1 "number".
For example I have a topic that has
h1 - Introduction
h2 - Management Team
h3 - Finance
h3 - Marketing
h2 - Technical Team
h3 - Web
h3 - Documentation
h2 - Quality Assurance
h3 - Web
h3 - Product
h1 - Life-cycle
h2 - Project Management
h3 - Tools
h3 - Reporting
It is desired for the printed output to look something like:
Introduction
1.1 - Management Team
1.1.1 - Finance
1.1.2 - Marketing
1.2 - Technical
1.2.1 - Web
1.2.2 - Documentation
1.3 - Quality Assurance
1.3.1 - Web
1.3.2 - Product
Life-Cycle
2.1 - Project Management
2.1.1 - Tools
2.1.2 - Reporting
Suggestions?

Suppressing printing of autonumbered text
Re: Suppressing printing of autonumbered text
Hi Jim
You can achieve what you’re after by adjusting the AutoNumber support on the H1–Hn styles.
What follows is implemented for H1 and H2. H3 through n is achieved in a similar way.
Output
H1 style
H2 style
