I just had the oddest problem occur: when I generated PDFs from a target, words have random letters inserted into them; for example:
Create Schema on SQL Server for Windows (Client)
renders as:
"C re a te S c h e m a o n S Q L S e rv e r fo r W in d o w s (C lie n t)"
No idea why this is suddenly happening but any troubleshooting help appreciated.
It doesn't seem to be stylesheet related - I completed wiped my stylesheet, but I render the PDF, those spaces are still there.
EDIT: Turns out this is due to setting your desktop "scale and layout" percentage value for fonts to anything but 100%. When I changed this value then regenerated the PDFs, they were fine.

PDF problem: random spaces inserted
Re: PDF problem: random spaces inserted
I'm glad you got this sorted, it's a frequent complaint. These forums would benefit from an FAQ.

It would indeed.AlexFox wrote:I'm glad you got this sorted, it's a frequent complaint. These forums would benefit from an FAQ.
Any idea what the intended use of this Desktop Scale and Layout % is? Who would possibly want spaces inserted into words in some generated output?
The newest noob in town.
Re: PDF problem: random spaces inserted
I hope Madcap fix this soon - more and more people are going to go to 1920 x 1080 or above resolutions, at which point font scaling over 100% is almost mandatory.
