Recommended ways of debugging PDF styling problems.

Post by alsarg72 »

Hi all,

What ways are there to debug an issue where my stylesheet is correct, Flare renders it correctly in both the XML Editor and the PDF mode Preview, but in the generated PDF it is not correct. An example being, I've styled something to be centered, it is centered in XML Editor, centered in the PDF Preview, but is right justified in the generated PDF. In the HTML5 output obviously you just go and inspect the elements in the Developer tools in the browser. What can be done for a PDF?

Thanks in advance,

Al

I don't have a direct answer for PDF debugging, but as a workaround I usually send to Word first and have a look at the styles there. If there is a problem like justification you can often work your way back by checking the generated Word styles.
Might be worth a try.
