]I had brought this to MadCap's attention about two years ago: the epub target created by Flare is invalid. I got help from OxygenXML to troubleshoot the problem and the issue is that Flare compresses the mimetype (which violates standards). Apparently Madcap cannot or will not fix this, so epubs created from Flare will not work for uploading to Amazon Kindle. I have discussed this several times with tech support at MadCap and have not gotten a response.
Is there a way of fixing a Flare generated epub after the fact to make it valid? I have run epub checker 4.1.1 and get over 200 errors.
