PDF Fonts Not Correct - After Upgrade to Windows 10

Post by Evetsm »

Hello!

I upgraded to a new laptop with Windows 10.
I installed Flare (2017) and our Flare project.
When I generate a PDF on this new laptop the text is some kind of monospace font I've never seen before. Among the oddities are spaces between characters where there are no spaces in the Flare topic itself.
On my old laptop I had no issues and the fonts were correct.
I'm assuming the problem lies with Windows 10, but I'm not sure.

Please see attachment.

Can you help me fix this problem?
Thank you!
Steve

Does the font work in other places in your Windows 10? Maybe that's where the version issue is happening. Try it out in MS Word.

The usual advice for fonts in PDF is: install the font, close Flare, open Flare, try to use the font (use local formatting for testing). Ensure that the font is installed for all users, not just your user. But maybe you've tried all of that!

If your windows resolution is more than 100% (in display settings), could you set it to 100% and see if the pdf generates correctly?

Thank you doloremipsum and Psider.

I'm able to generate PDF from word with no font problems, so that suggests it is a Flare issue.

I will try setting resolution to 100% and regenerate the pdf.

Cheers,
Steve

Hello psider!

Your suggestion worked, thanks so much!

In case anyone else has this problem, go to Display settings and the value of the "Change the size of text, apps, and other items" to 100%.
