Can't get body frames working in title page

Post by davidmcmurrey »

Using Flare 2020 and following Laura Johnson's https://www.madcapsoftware.com/blog/gue ... df-output/

I have followed her steps at least a half-dozen times. Two problems:

[*] When the frames I create in the page layout appear in the html file, I can't edit in them.
[*] And usually I don't see the frames when I try to edit the html file at all

What am I missing?

Can you show us what is in your Page Layout (a screen shot of it maybe or the code), and what is in your title topic? Hard to see what might be going wrong here without a little more information.

The topic for your title page will contain text and styles that you want to appear on the layout. The page layout will include body, image and decoration frame(s) that tells Flare where to put things on a page. Text from the topic will flow into the body frame(s).

Some ideas:
Check that frames for content in the page layout are actually body frames - they'll have 'body' displayed bottom right of the frame in the page layout editor
When you look at your topic can you see the content at all in the XML Editor? Can you see it in the Text Editor?
What happens if you apply a different page layout to the topic in the TOC? Can you see the frames and the content then?
