Displaying Embedded PDFs in ToC

Post by jimszelagowski »

My company has a number of print user guides that include embedded PDFs. We recently switched from using ToC depth for heading levels to having heading levels defined by the headings in our topics. As a result of this change, all of our embedded PDFs now show up as top-level ToC items, even though none of them actually are. Is anyone aware of a workaround (other than re-enabling "Use ToC Depth for Heading Levels") that would allow us to appropriately nest the PDFs in our ToC?

I noticed this a couple of years ago and there wasn't a solution then, so unless the MadCap techies in the cupboard under the stairs have been fed plenty of biscuits under the cupboard door, I think there's still no solution. Perhaps put in a feature request and see what happens to it?

Thanks for your reply! I have confirmed with MadCap support that there is not a solution for this yet. I'm hopeful that someone out there has figured out a workaround and will share it with us here.
