Perhaps this should be in a generic "printed output" forum...but I'll post here first...
What is the best approach for keeping a block of text "together" when going to printed output to avoid (if possible) a page break within the block?
<table><tr><td>My Block of text</td></tr></table>
Is the easiest way that I can think of, but working within a table all the time doesn't feel right.
<div>My Block</div>
Will that work? Nope..doesn't.
A page-break within the text is "OK" if the text is not a Widower or Orphan. (widow/orphan assignment for a paragraph is easy)
Example of unacceptable block:
paragraph 1
pagebreakbreak;
paragraph 2
paragraph 3
paragraph 4
Example of acceptable block:
paragraph 1
paragraph 2
pagebreak;
paragraph 3
paragraph 4
Again, this is quite simple if this was one paragraph which had multiple lines. I'm looking for an approach for one block with multiple paragraphs.
Ideas?

Re: "Keep Together" Strategy
the topic you refer to speaks of widows/orphans for a paragraph. This is easy. And the author is wrong when he says you can't specify the number of lines for widows/orphans in word.
However, I'm not speaking of a paragraph. I'm speaking of a "block of paragraphs"
When...the paragraphs are very very short (say one line).

Does this block have to flow with other text, or is it ok if it's always on a page by itself? If it doesn't have to flow with other text, I'd say the simplest thing is to add a page break before it starts.
Until next time....
