Flare slowing to a crawl after building a PDF

Post by Juliette Sandles »

Has anyone experienced an extreme slow down from Flare after building a PDF output?

I find that once I've done a Build PDF, when I come back to Flare it's really unresponsive, taking minutes to re-draw pages and open topics. This is true even if I close down Adobe completely. I'm having to completely close Flare after I build a PDF, then reopen it. It's the only way I can get it to behave normally again.

I'm using Flare v4, and it's linked to Visual Studio 2005 for source control.
Anyone got any advice?

Thanks,
Juliette.

The only thing I can suggest is to make sure Flare/ VS isn't trying to add your output to source control.

Does it only occur if you build a PDF? If you build a WebHelp or HTML help do you see the same speed issues.

Hi,

No, it's only if I produce printed output (it's the same with building a Word output). I've built an html output and Flare works fine after it.

(Sorry for the delay in response - I've not been around.)
