TOC begins on page 5

Post by ccardimon »

I don't have anything against page 5, but pages 2, 3, and 4 are blank following the Title Page. I've had a look-see, but nothing is jumping out at me. What am I missing?

I'm assuming that in addition to selecting the numbering format that you also selected "Reset to" and specified the number 1?

I have gone back and forth with the Page Number, setting from "Reset to" to "Continue from previous," but nothing much seems to change.

I know I'm doing something wrong here. :(

And you have that page set to start a new chapter, even if you're using the same chapter layout that was used for the previous topic?

Yes. And the TOC is using the same Page Layout as the Title Page.

What's the setup in the page layout? Do you have Title, First, Left, Right, Empty? And what page did you select for the title page (Title?) and the TOC (First? Right?).

For the Title and TOC Pages I use the Page Layout of Title. The rest of the pages use the Page Layout of Normal.

I'm running out of things to check... I guess maybe check the variable you're using for the page number in the page layout. Maybe there's an inline style or something in there that's causing it to change the value???

BTW, did you enable any of the "section" parameters when you were creating a new chapter (via the TOC entry, that is)?

Oh, and on the title page, did you set it to disable the empty page feature? I'm assuming your title page is just one page long.

I'm off to check on the things you mentioned. One of these will do the trick.
