Edit PageCount on the fly?

Post by Jan Jursa »

Hi,

I have 2 index pages with a roman numbering style and then my main doc starts again from 1 (latin) counting upwords.
The last page says something like "Page 20 from 22" - though it's the last page. Obviously Flare is counting the roman numbered indesx pages, too.

What I need, would be something like this:
"Page [PageNumber] from [PageCount - 2]"

What is the best way not to count index-pages and other stuff?
Thx,
Jan

I don't know if there's a way to do that, because technically, it's telling you the truth. There really are 22 pages in the document, not the 20 you want it to show. You could always put in a feature request, though (http://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx).

Is there some particular reason why you have to show page x of y in your document? Why not just have page x?

Hm.... good point. I will simply do "page x".
Cheers :)
