Hi,
Problem: Using 1 TOC for both CHM and PDF output, I need to have the chapters in the PDF numbered according to the levels as they occur in the TOC. So if in the TOC a topic occurs at Book/Book/Book/Book/Book/Topic it must be Chapter/Section/Section/Section/Section/Paragraph and numbered like 3.2.2.1.2.1.
When in the PDF target the option "Use TOC depth for heading levels" is checked, It is only possible to control the heading up to 3 levels deep, using the topic "Properties" menu, setting a chapter break for printer output and using the options "section break" and "increment number" in "Section number" for auto-numbers.
How to define the section numbers for level 4, 5, 6 and beyond and have them incremented correctly???
Greetings, Rene Severens

Those should work. Have you double-checked that the mc-heading-level for heading 4 is set to 4 and not 0? Likewise with headings 5 and 6 (you can't go more than 6 levels deep). Also, you need to specify the numbering style for each of those headings using the mc-auto-number-format field like you did for headings 1 through 3.
