Flare Tip
Did you know that if you Have Show Files enabled you can drag multiple topics in to your editor and it will create a See Also Link

Re: Flare Tip
hey it works! alas we use See Also links.
If you submit your bug feedback request here, the more likely it'll get fixed or included in a future release

Rick,
Ok, you've piqued my interest. Can you elaborate on this, please? I do a ton of See Alsos and could really use a shortcut.

He means in Content Explorer... if you click on the 'Show files' icon on the Content Explorer toolbar, you can select a group of files and drag them onto your topic to create related topics links.

Ohmigoodness - that works so well! It's sad that I'm so excited about this little gem of a shortcut.
Thanks!

Re: Flare Tip
This tidbit is fantastic! Thanks for providing that Mimic movie. I was able to see very quickly how to do what you described AND I was able to show our Product Management team how Mimic could help us enhance our own software product's help. We're now working on a strategy for adding little movies like this to our system help to better explain certain procedures.
One question: How do I change the link text from "Related Topics" to "See Also"? It's probably something really simple right in front of my face. Care to give me a little nudge?
Thanks!
Michelle

Re: Flare Tip
I realize this is probably three months too late to be helpful, Michelle, but...
1. Open your stylesheet (Content Explorer -> Resources -> Stylesheets).
2. Ensure you have Advanced View mode on. You should see a list of classes in the left pane and a set of Properties in the right. If you see previews, you need to click Advanced View near the top of the window.
3. Scroll down the list of classes and click MadCap|relatedTopics.
4. In the Properties list, expand the Unclassified section.
5. Change the mc-label property from "Related Topics" to "See Also".
No worries, by the way; it's definitely not in front of your face!

Is there any reason why this wouldn't work?bbuchko wrote:I realize this is probably three months too late to be helpful, Michelle, but...

I've changed the mc-label property to something else, and "Related Topics" is always there no matter what I do. I've ensured everything else is correct, pointing to the right stylesheet, my Medium is properly selected, etc., but I can't seem to change this from "Related Topics."
Re: Flare Tip
be sure the See Also is related to that specific Stylesheet/Styleclass then it should work fine without any problems.
