what kind of links are shown in this attachment?

Post by fltii »

i am reverse engineering some pages done by the tech writer before me and there are these links that go to a specific spot on a page (i.e. not the top) and they are shown in the image i attached. but i can't figure out what they are exactly, so i can't find them in the help. there are two kinds of links shown. can anyone tell me what they are called so i can find out how to use them in the flare help?

These aren't links. The one with the yellow background is a bookmark (so you can link to this heading from somewhere else). The green one is an index entry, for printed and online indexes.

You can turn on or off the display of that type of info. Click the down arrow next to the <t> icon to see what you can show and hide.

another related question:

for the bookmarks, is there a way to see where the links to the bookmarks are located?

i tried deleting the bookmark, thinking it would ask me if i wanted to remove the links, but it did not.

i don't know if that is because there is no link or because it doesn't tell you if there is.

I don't know for a specific bookmark, but you can right-click on the topic in the Content Explorer, and you can select "View Dependencies". This will show you all topics that link to the selected topic, including any references to the bookmark.
